Day 3 of the Covid: I feel even worse than yesterday, and I
Dec 16, 2022, 9:19 AM
|

didn't think that was even POSSIBLE. Just took my second round of the Paxlovid, sure hope those wonder drugs start to kick in soon.
Having now actually HAD the Covid, here are some observations so far.
1) Weak as a newborn kitten. Getting up out of a chair and moving around, AT ALL, immediately tires me out.
2) Balance is shot to Heyall. "Lightly" fell up against the wall in the bathroom a couple times last night.
3) For me, at least, no fever, but I rarely run fevers anyway. The headaches and nuclear hot sandpaper throat more than make up for the absence of fever, though.
Please, Lord, take this scourge away from me soon.

If you need the ivermectin (horse dewormer), I have some for the horses and breaks the dose down per every 200 lbs of weight. Let me know if you need some or go to Tractor Supply. If nothing else you'll rid yourself of parasites. ?
Hope you get well soon.

I was just going to post the same. Don’t mess around if your oxygen levels are dropping. Get to the ER. Praying the anti-viral starts to take affect soon and your symptoms improve.

Excellent advice. Paxlovid, stay hydrated, monitor Oxygen sat and pulse. If pulse > 100 or O2 sat < 90, go to ER.

I got relief from a B12, steroid shot in the rump. Got another two days later but it sure helped. Another thing, caffeine withdrawals can bring on a pretty bad headache. Prayers for you 76. Have you begun monitoring your oxygen levels yet?

Last time I had Covid
Dec 16, 2022, 9:40 AM
|
|
I had got a very small fever, chills and body aches and.....Vertigo!
After 3 days I started getting a growing headache that got worse and worse, I realized I hadn't eaten much of anything, including caffeine. So I had my wife bring me a coke and my lord it was almost instant relief. Within 20 minutes most of my headache went away and by an hour later I felt a LOT better.
Never had vertigo before then, and wasn't sure what it was for 2 days. By day 5 though, I had looked up the exercises to bring relief. First time I did them it brought about 80-90% relief. Took a few more weeks but it eventually disappeared (for the most part).
Crazy thing, when doing them, I had my wife helping me. When I was moving through the progressions she my eyes were twitching back and forth like crazy and it half freaked her out.
Here's to you feeling better soon!!

Hang in there - I felt terrible for 12 days when I had it

(before the vaccine was available).
It's always struck me as odd how wildly different symptoms and effects are from person to person.
I had no headaches or sore throat - but I had a fever that bounced back and forth from 98.6 to 103 several times per day...plus the weakness you describe.

It is amazing how people have different symptoms. I’ve had it twice and it was different the second time from the first time. The first time was more severe and lasted longer with no fever. No loss of smell, no loss of taste but an enormous headache. Second time, the severity was the same but it lasted shorter. Second time I had a fever, lost smell and lost taste. But both times a humidifier helped me out a lot. Lack of hydration made it worse. I’ll be praying for you that you turn the corner very soon. It took me months the first time to get my energy back. About four weeks the second time. Also, at the end of day three was when I turned the corner the second time.

If you’re fat (which I’m guessing you probably are), then by all means take the injections. It may help YOU. No one ever said the shots weren’t good for anyone at all.
But the much better solution is to get off your couch and not be fat. (this has been peer reviewed)

I'm a sub 3 hour marathoner and in all likelihood in better physical condition that you've ever been in your life but thanks for your concern.
The "injections" are beneficial for the majority of the population, preexisting conditions or not. The scientific evidence is clear. It's not my fault you're too willfully ignorant to accept that.

If you have one of those finger tip blood oxygen level monitors, use it periodically. I had that same weakness/tiredness and my level would drop to 88% when moving around. I needed an hour nap after brushing my teeth. That was the January 21 strain and I guess it hit my respiratory system hardest.
The other thing I would say is make sure you eat, even if you don’t feel like it.
Get better

It is strange how it effects people differently. I caught Covid Labor Day weekend. The wife said I had to stay in the bedroom to not pass it to the rest of the family. I never felt that bad and was going crazy so went for a 10 mile bike ride. I do a lot of bike riding for exercise.

Our ages may be close. I had it 2years ago. Covid attacks your lungs. That is why you are so weak and bouncing off the walls. For old people, it is a serious, life threatening illness. I passed out on my feet. My wife rolled an office chair behind me and sat me down. She called EMS. ER Dr said my oxygen levels were extremely low. I was put into an isolation room for 5 days. Too weak to move. The oxygen tube helped a lot. Dr told me some patients stayed on their stomachs for days while they pumped oxygen into their lungs just to keep them alive. She said your lungs are toward your back and lying on your stomach makes breathing easier. You can get a monitor that takes a reading from your finger & gives your pulse and oxygen levels. About $20. Don't mess around. Covid can kill you.

Word of advice...sit up, get up and move a safe distance for you and walk every 1-2hrs. Your lungs are designed to work against gravity. They do not work well lying down. You need to sit up, get up and move so that you can cough and hack and spit the gunk in your lungs out!
COVID is not what is killing people. Its pneumonia brought on via COVID that is deadly. So sit up, get up and move in a safe range frequently throughout the day so you can try to get that stuff out of you and prevent yourself from developing pnuemonia!
Will say prayers for you...from what I have heard most folks are pretty well kicking COVID now, but for the immunocompromised it can be a bear. Hope you get over this soon!

76...I found out last week the terrible cold I had told people
Dec 16, 2022, 6:05 PM

|
I had on September....was actually COVID.....my wife was looking up an appointment I made on my chart and said, "I didn't know you had COVID!"...I said, "I didnt"...and she said ,"oh yes you did".....They even called me on the same drug...I never even picked it up....I will admit though....I did not run the steps for 2 weeks and it took me a month to get my strength back...
Well....I am about to hit the steps now....and I hate running in this wind...I swear, the rain was preferable.....

taken out 52 years ago. Lasted one week. The last few days of that I was drinking ICE WATER ALL DAY LONG. When I would wake up at night, I would get some vanilla ice cream and try to swallow it by the spoonful to ease my soreness...

This was before antibodies were given easily but I ended up with 3 types of antibiotics and Ivermectin. I had to be on Ivermectin for 6wks although I felt better a wk into taking it. But get the antibodies first if you can! After 5 days of fever they wont offer again unless the status quo has changed.
I was very very sick as a cancer survivor, it was pretty scary. My Ox2 was in the mid 60s, should have been on a ventilator but i would not let them. My fever was 104-105 for 6 days straight and over 102 for 2wks. I got double lung pneumonia and couldn't breathe without knives in my back.
If you miss the antibodies, definitely check into Ivermectin as I could tell a change 24hrs later. I will tell you tho, do not drink alcohol after you feel good and are still on the Ivermectin ######. It will make you sick all over again.

I found drinking hot decaf tea helped clear the congestion. There are many flavors with lemon and mint being among the more tolerable if you still have a sense of taste. If you haven't ordered your oximeter yet please consider adding a box of decaf tea bags to to your order.

The inflammation in my chest with the cough was the worst part of covid for me, and I'm still coughing up that very thick and sticky mucus from my lungs. I started using an albuterol inhaler, and it seems to be helping with the pressure I have in my chest from the mucus, and it seems to help with breathing easier, but I wouldn't suggest using an inhaler of any kind without it being okayed by your Dr before using anything like that, period.
At my age, and with diabetes, if I hadn't had the vaccine before I caught covid, I feel pretty sure that I would have been one of those in the hospital with a breathing tube shoved down my neck into my lungs for a breath of air, and I could have easily been a covid 19 death statistic. I'm so thankful that I'm not one of those that mistrust our medical professionals and refused the vaccine. I'm also glad that I wasn't one of those in the hospital struggling to breath and wishing I had been vaccinated before covid squeezed all the oxygen from my lungs.
For the older Croud that mistrust the medical professionals, I would like to tell you that I was the guinea pig for you, and I've had the first two initial vaccines, and I've had two boosters since, and I'm fine. But after knowing covid as a vaccinated person, I truly believe that if I hadn't been vaccinated for the covid 19 virus at my age with diabetes, I probably wouldn't be here today asking you to get vaccinated bc without the vaccination, I do believe the inflammation that covid brings with it would have squeezed every breath from my lungs, and my wife would have me in an urn stashed in our home somewhere until after she passes, and I'll be put in her casket, and we will be shoved in her crypt at the Mausoleum LOL . Just go and get vaccinated, I promise it won't be as bad as covid without it, and it will be gift for the people who love you, and care about you....
