I’m kidding of course, but ND is very solid.

Yep. I never have liked ND, but I like Freeman. And I can’t stand GA.

It’s hard to pull for ND, but easy to pull against Georgia.

and no home field games. All 'bowl' game venues. That way we can reduce the number of crap bowl games with opt outs.

I like this system: Make the conference championship games bowl games. On the same day as the conference championship games, play 3 more bowl games with the top 6 ranked teams not playing in conference championship games. This is the first round of a 26 team playoff. Conference championship games become win or go home. The 8 winners move to the next round. All games are bowl games so that makes 15 bowl games part of the playoffs. SEC and Big 10 won’t go for it because they want the loser of their conference championship game to still be in the playoffs. But every playoff system becomes win or go home at some point.

16 team playoff, each of the 8 first round games played at the ‘more deserving’ team’s home stadium. After first round, all games are played at a ‘traditional bowl’ venue.
Conference championships have to mean something. These conf. champs get automatic home field venue for their first round games. The non-conference champ teams that have the highest CFP rating (from among the non-conference. champs) get the other home field priviledges.

It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. It’s been stupid crazy for the last few years… I don’t expect it to change that trajectory.

The Byes are needed if you are going to keep Conference Championship Games.
You can't have teams playing an extra game and have less time to prep and recover.
