This is college football today. The word TEAM is no longer part of the college landscape. Its all about what can you do for ME? The days of guys staying and growing up in a program are done. We have been lucky to hold that line of thinking off for as long as we have but its here now.

Yep bout to call it a wrap because it’s pointless especially when we never replace the talent

Good grief. I thought we would see him on the field next year.
I thought Patterson would go based on Dabo's comments earlier in the year.

Crazy!
I think this is straight up poaching the Tigers roster.
I am not against the portal or NIL: but poaching is a different matter completely.
If a player decides they want to change; that's one thing.
But, look at how quickly our portal players sign. An unknown player from a small school won't get picked up as quick.
It's disgusting really.

At this point there's no real reason to get excited about commitments either since there's a 80% chance they either bust or up and leave before they become upperclassmen.

He met with Dabo and got the lowdown on himself and his competition.

Not a big guy and not highly rated. We are moving towards a taller defensive line in recruiting. We have Parker, Hoffler and Lawson. Lawson is a similar smaller DE body like Ojiegbe and is a year ahead of him. Plus, we have 6'7" DEs committed.
We are likely hitting the portal for another one.

If we start replacing talent with some proven talent it’s fine, but we haven’t seen that happen

What do you think he’s talking about??? The transfer portal up to this moment has been a ONE WAY thing at Clemson…

6 ft 3 245 isnt bad. Also, he was a 4 star. He had nice offers. Big enough. Maybe he saw he was getting buried in the depth chart already though. There are so many factors. Misses home. Not doing well in school. You name it.

I’m fine with it. We’ve essentially replaced him with a clone from the DC area in Mayo. Undersized and needs time in the weight room to develop.

Clemson has to pursue a DE in the portal now that Ojiegbe opens up an extra spot.
This move kind of makes sense though. Parker and Hoffler are much further ahead in their development. He probably isn't excited about being a backup for another two years. I get it.

Getting razor thin at DE, I was expecting Zaire Pattersons name to pop up in the portal not Ojiegbe. Hope Patterson hangs around, can't afford to lose many more guys at DE.

We just play some true freshmen and recruit more for 2025. Easy fix.
There are other answers besides bringing in 10 guys via the portal.
