........the success of this team over the past decade has spoiled a lot of you to the point that only a certain type of win makes you happy. These guys bust their you know what for the school you supposedly love which I question your fandom and the best you can give is "well you guys didn't win the way I thought you should". Just know that a lot of true fans on this board as well as I believe you're a joke of a fan. So go ahead with your witty comeback responses but know I'm not going back and forth with you also remember when Dabo criticized and laughed at that type of fan that you are that fan Dabo was talking about.

Miserable is how I feel when we lose. Not happy is how I feel when we play FAR below our potential but still win ugly. Happy is when we play our best and dominate in all phases of the game. Ecstatic is when we play far above our potential and beat someone that is actually better than us.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is a game, and I try not to get too high over a win, nor too low over a loss. I remind myself that no matter what, we have 3 National Championships that can’t be taken away. That makes me smile. These kids are trying hard, too. I remember games like Troy, during a championship year, that we could have lost. I remember a game with NC state that we won b/c they missed a field goal late. You have to process everything, and just try to enjoy the wins.

Yep isn’t the first year we’ve started off shaky, but the games haven’t been close like last year and we’ve actually seen flashes of an offense. By WF Antonio Williams will be starting and the personnel will get better. Always gonna try my best to keep the faith with our Tigers even though I wanna pull my hair out sometimes. I mean at least we aren’t ND or A&M ???

Not lonely. Very happily married with 2 kids. But a realist.
Say want you want but here is the reality.
1. We got out gained by an FCS school. This is concerning even with backups in.
2. This oline is not very good at the moment. Hopefully it improves as it looks as bad as we have had in years. Not sure what Dabo saw unless our D is not as good as it has been.
3. DJ looks better.
4. Defense did not look good today. Hopefully a one off, but we better figure out screens and fast.
5. Need Adam and Antonio to step up with Bo.
If we play the way we have in the 1st 2 games, this is easily a 2 loss team.

Yall can sit here and be positive, I get it...but struggling to stop Furman and struggling to block Furman, struggling on offense and defense against furman....is disappointing....we scored 7 points against Furman in the 2nd half with our starters playing every minute...that's embarrassing.
Dabo is disappointed as hell right now, you best believe Wes and Streeter got some tough questions to answer from dabo tonight...
And as clemson fans we have the right to be disappointed when the teams performance is disappointing

NOBODY said that. Some of us would simply not b****h and complain about everything. It's game 2...5 days after game 1. We won handily. LOTS of room for improvement. 10 games in which to improve.
As has been said, Notre Dame and A&M would happily trade places with us.

Nobody said you have to be over the moon about it, but bitching and complaining about a 23 point win is f****** stupid. College football is supposed to be an escape, a hobby, not something that makes you miserable if you don't get exactly what you want every game.

well before the players. This team doesn't look well coached right now. Our OL hasn't been able to establish the LOS against GT and Furman (plus nearly all of 2021). We have nearly a half dozen 4 and 5*s WRs that haven't panned out. That feels like more than a coincidence. We've struggled at QB. Our offense has looked stale and most teams seem well prepared for what we want to do.
The team just hasn't been performing up to the level of the talent on it. That's on the coaches, not the players.
And if our defense slips this year, watch out. We had a very elite defense last year that was the difference between going 10-3 and 7-6.
Dabo's won two titles so he's clearly capable of building championship level teams and he obviously deserves our patience, but he's also made two of his best hires after suffering failures and being forced to look outside for help and fresh ideas.

I get your point and a bad win is always better than a good loss. I think the concern is that a program like Clemson should not be celebrating bad wins against bad teams. Furman is good for who they are but they are not a good program in comparison to the better teams we will have to compete against. With as much talent as we have, it is hard not to be disappointed right now but that also doesn't make us bad fans. We just want to see the best play and coach like the best and so far, we've been a little short of that but we also have a lot in front of us and time to get better.

That's just being honest and objective. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it.
The most important thing, of course, is to win. That's the main objective, by far. Congratulations and big check mark for that one. It's also very important to play with discipline and limit mistakes. We did a very poor job of that. It's also extremely important, win or lose, that we play with fire, intensity, and a killer instinct, start to finish. This may have been the most disappointing aspect of all, as we looked flat and uninspired for much of the day.
So sure, congratulate each other on the "W", but realize that if you continue to play like that, you are going to lose some games this year, likely to teams who are less talented than you, but are better prepared and want it more.
That view doesn't make one a bad fan. It's just honest and realistic. I'm positive that our coaches realize that, aren't happy about it, and will be addressing it all in meetings and practice this coming week.

I haven’t been in today and haven’t read all the threads but for me it’s concerning that we aren’t completely dominating an FCS opponent like we should. We all would like to turn the tv at half or just enjoy watching and bunch of back ups rack up even more points.
OL after two games is a big concern. No open holes for RB. Passing looked a little better but WR still look like we did not improve from 2021. No elite Alpha in the room unless Adam Randal shows up next week and surprises all of us.
We still got Louisiana Tech to get out stuff together or it’ll it’s going to a tough ACC stretch.

Agreed! It’s not hard to see why Pawl Finebam says we have the worst fans in America. After 12 years you’d think we would remember that Dabo isn’t going to run up the score. He much prefers to play as many players as possible. In addition, championship football is payed with great intensity. But there is no intensity in the minds of our players against Furmnan! We are 2 and 0. It’s a long season. Forget the rankings. They don’t mean a thing till the playoff selection committee begins to meet. So we need to relax and enjoy the season. That’s my intent. Go Tigers!!

I think to simplify, the overall sentiment is that both Marshall and APP State would likely have kept things CLOSE or have defeated our Tigers if either was today's opponent. CU is fortunate to have had Furman on the field - and still got spooked.

I think with the landscape of college football today it's important to run teams like Furman off the field. That is if you want a shot at the playoffs. I mean a win against GA Tech drops you in the polls. There is a lot to clean up before that conversation starts but hopefully that gets done and we get back to the playoffs and be competitive.

I’m delighted for every win, but wasn’t it Dabo, whom I absolutely love, said “best is the standard” and we don’t play Furman, we play Clemson. If you think Dabo is happy with our performance you are delusional. I bet I am happier than Dabo!

I remember the 90s when we were terrible. We prayed for the 80s days to come back. Dabo has done what he set out in that closet the day he was announced as interim head coach. BEST IS STANDARD. Dabo set that expectation in 2008. All Clemson fans have become accustomed to this standard. So I expect it every game and every year. We can love and criticize our team because that is what fans do. This game is irrelevant in my opinion. Furman gets a check and Clemson gets a dubya. Remember when wofford kicked our tales in the first half years ago. It happens. this game does not mean anything. Short week and a tired team is what I saw. Glad to see the offense played well in the first half. Looking forward to the next game.
Best will be standard next week as well and the fans expect it.

even when we won handily, we never blew out teams, point wise, like some do. We never got the benefit from a ridiculous score. many times, that is Dabo. So then how can he say we are spoiled?
