Dabo set a World a record in the backstroke last night

With this pure BS that Cade wasn’t ready because of his int against ND.
What the h*ll did he think ND would do when they are up and Cade comes in inside his own 10 yard line….BLITZ, BLITZ, BLITZ….
These comments are so much baloney. They should have given Cade a lot more NORMAL series this season.
Live and die with Dabo, but needs to ADMIT he was wrong with the way he handled Cade this season.

Problem is his comments after the game didn’t reflect that at all….just more of the talking up DJ and ignoring Cade thing is what we heard out of him!

One of the drawbacks to leadership at a high level is that you no longer have the luxury of being brutally honest. Your words are no longer just words, they have serious consequences. Dabo is more politician/CEO than coach at this point, and you can't just tell the stockholders "Yeah that was stupid, we messed up. We should have fired that guy years ago."

Dabo is too stubborn to admit Cade could have played more earlier. He is hiding something.

Dabo says what Dabo wants almost all the time. But he has been lying his ### off about DJ and Cade all season.
And oh, by the way, if Cade wasn’t ready, whose fault is that? His!
Because Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence played early and often as true freshman! Cade did not. Because Dabo was ride or die with DJ no matter what! But the way DJ started last night he had no choice! But make no mistake. He put Cade in some bad situation and set him up to fail.

Yesterday was Dabo having to submit to reality in practice- but he **admitted** absolutely nothing. His comments after the game included him continuing to prop up the same lies as before. He May have yielded to reality in practice, but he admitted nothing.

Did you not watch Cade the times he came in this season? PAINFULLY obvious he wasn't ready but it's nice knowing the couple glimpses you've seen gives you more qualifications than the guy who has seen him everyday. There's a reason some young guys don't start, THEY ARE NOT READY. It's not like he hasn't been getting ready all year that led up to last night. I mean God forbid it take a freshmen QB almost a whole season to get to the point he is comfortable. Yeah it takes a smart man to watch the game last night and come to the conclusion Cade's the better QB but NOT one person who has saw Cade this year expected that which makes your post ignorant.

The series he played against Ga Tech cemented it for me. No excuse for not starting him the next week.

Look at the Notre Dame game. Dabo was roundly criticized, rightfully so, because he put Cade in a terrible situation in that game. He basically threw him to the wolves.
You people are ignoring the obvious.
Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence played early and often in games as true freshman. They were prepared.
Cade wasn’t even playing with the first stringers in practice. Much less getting any significant playing time in actual games. Even against bad teams. Because we have struggled the past two years because of how bad DJ is.

Last night was the first time that Cade was allowed to run plays from the whole playbook. In DJ's defense, he has not been allowed to run plays from the whole playbook most of the year either. It is really tough to know his readiness prior because of the situations that he has been used in.
I don't have an issue with DJ being the starter all year. I certainly don't have an issue with Cade starting the Orange Bowl. I do have an issue with the coaching staff not getting Cade more experience prior to the ACC championship game. Whether he was ready before or not, the coaching staff should have been getting him ready.

If Cade wasn’t prepared for the blitz, does that mean he wasn’t ready?
I’m tickled to death with what Cade did yesterday, but that was by far better than anything we’ve seen from Cade all year. Let’s hope he keeps it up.

How many chances did he even get yo play…..not many but the few he was given DJ and our offensive coaches had put the offense in such a bad spot it was almost impossible for anyone to come out there and be successful. Coaches just kept making the situation by delaying the inevitable…..Cade was much better than DJ and coaches new this from the get go but failed to do anything about it to they absolutely had to……a whole season too late to be exact!

Go find the interview he did on ACCN with the ACC Huddle group after the game. He offered more insight into the decision and reasons he did what he did. The kid is good- and should be great- but he is still a true freshman. There’s a not more to QB play than making crisp throws.
And while it’s exciting and giving us a glimpse of the future- this was still UNC- which was THE worst Defense in the ACC and one of the worst in the nation. Don’t fool yourself into thinking CK would have had this type of performance every game.

Actually, he would have had Dabo treated him like Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson
Dec 4, 2022, 2:05 PM

But that was never going to happen because he did not want Cade to unseat DJ and Cade was never going to get that opportunity because Dabo would’ve had to have admitted he was wrong, and he’s never gonna admit he’s wrong to the media!

Nor does he have to. He is smart enough to know he is speaking to his team in these interviews. What they hear and how they respond is more important than full disclosure to us.
