I love the hill as much as anyone, and I'd hate to see that tradition go away. But we need to think about the future of Clemson football. The hill is outdated. I said it. And I am happy to now hear that Dabo Swinney and Graham Neff have been in talks with the board of trustees to phase out the hill over the next twenty years. Soon we will be adding seats. And added much needed handrails. In ten years we will add more seats and finally in 2036 the east end zone will be completely filled in with seats and the hill will be no more.
Dabo was quoted " I love the hill, I believe it's one of the best traditions in college football. But times are changing and I and happy to usher in this new age of Clemson football"
Neff replied when asked " yes everyone will miss the running down the hill, but it is outdated...Clemson will soon enter the field from the locker room like everyone else. This simply makes the most sense logistically. The money we spend on buses and fuel to carry the team to the other side of the field is getting out of hand, we can put that money to better use. Yes fans will miss the field, but one they see the new luxury boxes for the east end zone project, they will change their minds"
I for one am looking forward to seeing all the new changes to the east end zone. I hope y'all are too.

Thanks for posting. The money argument makes no sense. The hill is a tradition and should Not go away. Running down the hill is what everyone dreams of... obviously even other fan bases.

You remind me of gamecock fans that were is static when Muschamp won 9 games. They didn’t beat anyone with a winning record against power five programs. They think because they are in the SEC nine wins is amazing. Until you actually dig a little deeper and see how weak and pathetic their schedule was that year.
Our 26 wins were bogus because the ACC was the sixth rated conference this year. We didn’t even play a strong schedule within the conference.
The ACC was rated sixth this year. Five conferences were better than the ACC this season. That’s pathetic!
I honestly believe you are trolling. Because no one could be this stupid, ignorant and dumb about Clemson basketball and the current state of the ACC.

Not having it will kill a big portion of Clemson football. I will not believe that is what they're willing to do. This thing is just too unique and symbolic to that part of the state of S. Carolina.
As far as the good LORD not allowing you to see it...our LORD is a loving one and will not let it go or happen unless he is completely unhappy and tired of this Earth that he has created.

I like the strategic vision here. The plans for the hill to replaced completely by 2036 will coincide perfectly with the expiration of the Grant of Rights. Never too early to look ahead!!! Thank you Neff and Dabo for being visionaries.

Unfortunately, many of the TIGERNET readers are fans of FoxFakeNews and they will believe ANYTHING! (Even after the FoxFakeNews defense to the suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems was, per the FFN lawyers statement to the judge: "Nobody in their right mind would believe the (FFN news anchor's) statements, on the air, that there was significant voter fraud via the voting machines." That was the defense that the lawyers for FFN tried to use while asking the judge to dismiss the suit. (Of course, the judge saw thru that crap and did not dismiss the suit.)
(Yep, the lawyer's for FoxFakeNews said that no one would really believe their news reports on voter fraud in the 2020 election. You couldn't make this crazy crap up as fast as TheRump and FoxFakeNews can spit it out. Total liars.)
It was sad so many people were taken to be suckers, while they gave their hard-earned money to TheRump that claims to be VERY WEALTHY. And he pocketed most of those contributions. That's really sad.

I strongly disagree. That is a huge part of Clemson’s tradition. What other traditions are we looking to get rid of for the sake of $$$$$$$. Let’s stop tailgating so we have to buy food and drinks in the stadium. Another revenue booster. Keep the Hill ! That’s what sets Clemson apart from many other programs. The rock and the hill.
I don’t think we could make that much getting rid of the hill. I would be more concerned about the ACC and Clemson financial future as a member of the ACC. Out of the 6 or 7 years college football attendance has been in decline. This year attendance was up. I would not base my financial budget on one positive year.
I miss pre Covid college football !

More luxury box seats but good seating at a reasonable price. It should be easy to add several thousand bleacher seats to the WEZ and attract fans for every game. I would think that this could be done without completely eliminating the hill. Make seating available for the students in the WEZ and open up the present seating to season ticket holders. This is a problem with a sensible solution.
There are several things that need to be done to make Death Valley more welcoming to fans. The restroom issue is a real pain in the ###, Concessions could certainly be improved with a little thought. Every stadium I have been in for the last forty years has better seating comfort than we have in memorial stadium. Spending money on sliding boards is very foolish when the money could be spent for better fan comfort. It is a FACT..... some fans take up a lot more than one seat. This is a fact.... figures show it,
