IMO, the trigger point for the season was this

When Cade threw the puck against ND and never came back in. Why is DJ allowed mistake after mistake but Cade is buried for one bad throw? Had he not been put in such a terrible spot to begin with, who knows what could’ve happened?
Not saying Cade wins that game for us, but he definitely deserved more than one snap. And he could’ve been given the reps to lead us to an easy two TD win against SC and a spot in the playoffs.
The QB carousel was expected. The meddling with a freshman’s confidence was not. That ND game was all around awful.

D1 football's a "horrible" spot, sink or swim, if you can't

swim, then you got to drown.
The play Cade made there was demic of his play in the Cuse game, fading left, creating a problem when one did not exist.
He had a wide open AW, shoulders turned up field with his defender coming from the hash.
AW might still be running if that ball came out timely and with the purpose it should have.

Are you serious here? (No trolling, no rivalry smack, just football talk) That screen shot was about one second after the snap. AW was probably the 3rd (or maybe 4th) read on the play. And he's fading left maybe because every route in the pattern is going left? But a big problem does exist. #84 completely avoids the rusher #8, giving him free run. He actually ducks him trying to get into his route! He's gotta take him on or chip him at the very least. If he does his job, Cade almost certainly gets a clean ball to #10.

Absolutely and this was originally written prior to the HC

saying the same about this very play.
Horrible decision by Cade and the same tendency he showed versus Cuse fading left & "outside" into a sack, when stepping up inside the OT would have avoided it.
He'll continue to learn.

I don't know. If Cade steps up there, he walks straight into a sack. His only real option at that point was to throw it away (instead of forcing it).

Wasn't asking him to step up there, he should have known

immediately post snap read his choices, AW and the other to throw it away.
You have to play with a definitive sense of urgency at all times, even more so with your heels on your goal line.
It was a naked, Davis Allen is not meant, asked or intended to pick anyone there, just get into the under pattern ASAP.
Notre Dame's DE played his role perfectly, so hats off to him.
What transpired after was 100% between the ears failure on Cade's part. He'll continue to grow, learn and hopefully be everything envisioned by so many.

That would make sense if 84 was the first option. But it doesn't appear he was because Cade would have thrown him the ball immediately. If you're not the hot, you gotta protect your guy there. I mean yeah, hat's off to ND's #8, but y'all rolled him out a red carpet. I could have made that play.

For all you football geniuses Cade was running for his life in the end zone Inside the tackle box and if he doesnt throw to a receiver (or if he gets tackled) its intentional grounding and a safety by penalty

He was very clearly outside the tackle box. The ball was on the right hash, and the LT was a yard, maybe two, inside the right hash. Cade was near the center of the field when he got to the EZ.

While Cade was developing, the Head Coach felt DJ

gave us the best chance to win. Cade showed much more confidence and decision making against UNC. I'd say he's ready now.
Again, DJ was winning games, so why change? It got to the point where DJs mental concerns would have cost us the game against UNC, and Cade has developed over the course of his freshman year and is now ready.

weeks between Syracuse and ND and work Cade into the gameplan in a similar fashion to what was done before the ACCCG.
In the game, down, with no momentum, pinned deep, etc was a terrible time to make that decision.
