Easy now. They have 2 wins over Power 5 opponents in almost two months of football.

They were a three point underdog against a .500 team

When a game like that happens in the ACC, the narrative is always “we knew that (winning team) sucked; now we know (losing team) sucks worse. In the SEC, it’s more like “(losing team) has everything a powerhouse program needs except a coach and the product on the field, so (winning team) must be really good”

Besides ESPECN saying so; what in the world would make you think Texas A&M is anything special?

It’s not about espn. It just seems like players and coaches are buying in to Beamer ball. He is focused on a new culture and it seems to be getting some traction. Hear me - he is NO Dabo but he is following the model and it will generate enthusiasm. My point is they are creating a little momentum and the next several weeks are probably going to build in it. We still win in November but I don’t see a team coming in then that’s dead in the water with their season over and wondering where their program is headed. That is all.

Beamer has injected some life into that program. Question now will be if he can sustain it. I'm not surprised they beat A&M. But you look at the stat line, A&M dominated that game. With the injuries and backups, the Aggies just couldn't make up the ground. In my view, the win over Kentucky is their only impressive win so far.
As for the rest of the way, SC has no offense and Mizzou can play defense. That might not be the automatic win for SC some think. They'll beat Vandy but Florida is a toss up. I could see them suffering demoralizing losses the last two games. Tennessee may hang 50 on them and they're catching a beating at Clemson.

Kentucky wins that game with the starting QB as well . S.C has had back to back games with the opposing QB’s out amd now think they are are a good football team .

Disagree, and I watched most of the game

They came upon a train wreck and were smart enough to get out of the way. They have a running back, a TE and a couple of decent defensive players. They won’t get gifted 17 points every week.
If there is one word to describe Beamer, it is HOKIE. That dude is in way over his head. Chock full of “want to”, has all of the folksy cliche sayings, but absolutely zero clue what he is doing.
Not buying Beamer ball, not buying coots…

Fair points dsgriff. And your perception of Beamer might be right. However - comments almost verbatim can be found on many fan boards in 2008 and shortly after. Who wants a “cheerleader” on does all this silly stuff.

My point exactly

Beamer wants to be Dabo Jr, but there’s only one Dabo. We won’t be able to compare results in 13 years, because Beamer won’t be there. I will bet you right now that in 13 years there are zero (new) division championships, zero SEC championships, zero national championships. Maybe a few more mayonnaise jars, but nothing of significance.
I would go on to bet that Beamer will never anything bigger than maybe a division championship, wherever he coaches.
Middling program, middling coach…they were a 3 point underdog to a .500 team on their home field, and act like they won the natty.
