Coot fan on saturday during the game

i was in section row 1 row 2 near the tunnel, surrounded by garnet. I did not see any orange around me whatsoever. During warm ups, this coot with her husband said, Tajh Boyd isn't good enough for the NFL and that there's a reason why he is a 5th year senior. LOL
They also would not talk to us or say excuse me etc.. I would say excuse me when walking by and they would just give me the dirtiest stares.
@ Half time, a full soda cup was thrown from behind me and landed on some coot in row 1 to my left that was intended for the players. I probably saw 15+ students throw sodas and bottles at the players as they were going into the huddle. Dabo had to be covered by the police to get in. They were also throwing objects onto the end zone when their was a bad call.
Unfortunately, i left with 3 minutes left while they were doing the sandstorm so no one would notice my cousin and I so we could leave safely as we were so far down from the portal.
23 year old made it out alive and safe. Now let's win our bowl game and go out with a bang.

They try really hard to try to bring everybody down to their level, but it just doesn't work. There is not another school/team in the USA with as little class as usuc.

Cut him some some slack. He was at Chapel Hill in 1892 for crying out loud (based on his log in name). The dude is really a senior citizen.

"Students were throwing objects on the field" is much different than "a cup of soda hit someone intended for a player." The student section was nowhere near where Xavier Brewer's call took place if I remember correctly.

Coot fans were tolerant of me in Sec 7

I can only speak of my own experience in Sec 7, Row 11... But my cousin and I were treated well. I got some good natured ribbing but all in all they were good fans and sober. It sounds like the luck of the draw but I got lucky. I hope to never hear sandstorm again though.

I quit going many years ago. I was afraid I would hurt somebody who wasn't worth going to jail over (that would include just about everybody wearing coot paraphernalia).

That's the exact reason why I didn't go to the Clemson/Carolina game last year. I logged on to this website to ask for info on decent hotels in the area and I got nothing but bashed and called names, etc. That right there convinced me that maybe I shouldn't go to a hostile environment.

Had you come to the game, you would have left feeling like you were shown real courtesy and hospitality you ere not used to, even at your own place. Also, you wouldn't have had to enter a bad area of town or dodge the riff-raff you have around willie b. Don't even try to equate your fans nor your stadium, environment, etc. with ours. It isn't becoming. We don't mind that you didn't choose to attend the game, though.

would you prefer the visitor locker room to bus the team to the other side of the stadium so they dont have to walk through the students?

I doubt there is much you can do at willie b. that would make it a place most people who don't wear chicken logos would like to be. It is in a slum. Most folks recognize that and don't want to spend time in that setting. If you do, then fine, but don't expect many others to want to join you. To answer your question, though, yes it would be preferable to have the visiting team bused so that they didn't have to come in contact with coot fans.

Those rude fans are not representation of our entire fanbase. You were in the student section and lord only knows what happens there. If you had been on the visitors side, or even the home side you would have had a different experience (I hope). A pleasant one at that.

Perhaps this is why we had so many left over tickets this year. I do not go to SC anymore either. Last time I went me and my sister in law sat in the USC section with some so called friends of my husband, they were very ugly to us during the whole game. A lot of bad language from two grown men to two women. Not acceptable in my opinion.

All schools have crappy fans including USC and Clemson. I am sorry you had that experience.

So, to sum up, someone said something bad about Tajh, and then the people near you wouldn't talk to you, and were rude when walking by.
Then, you saw what everyone else on TV saw too. I suppose no idiot at Memorial Stadium has ever thrown a drink on the field at the opposing players? I'm not saying that's acceptable behavior. I'm saying it's not unique to Williams-Brice.
