Considering the embarrassment Brown L leveled on Neff

after going to bat for him like he did on the NCAA bid thing, laying a fat turd at home in the first round of the NIT and costing the school $500K plus in the revenue the extra home games would have provided, I'm happy to see him do nothing further regarding any extensions, including the obligatory one-year tack on for recruiting purposes. Brad has become so transfer oriented now as it is this hardly matters.
I'm also enthused that Neff is shaping up to be someone who knows how to identify and attract excellence in the coaching profession. The Bakich hire is looking pretty solid at this point, he did well enough on the LAX initial hire, and was All In on Riley as OC, though he was Dabo's find. He should have the confidence in himself, and that of the BOD, to know he can find the right person and the right vision for Clemson when Brad flops us out of contention once again.
With more facility investments ahead for hoops and a belief that we can actually excel in the sport, unlike most of the Brown L apologists who have long since given up on that, I don't see him doubling down on the Brown L again without actual success that delivers on the promise. No more 'wait til next year' or 'so close' or 'on the cusp.' Neff was burnt bad on that one, and he is showing he has the goods to level up. Hey, if Brad pulls a Year 14 miracle and we do something great? Awesome! One more year. If it's the same old story? Buh-bye.
Go Tigers!

So where is the extension Cobbox? Your fellow bro Judge Keller said it was a certainty. You both claim to be deep insiders who know much more than the Lunatic Fringe. Was it a silent extension?

After the embarrassment of last year Brad needs to string together multiple and consecutive NCAA invites and not go one and some in ANY of them…
If NIT is the best we do next season… or worse… he needs to go immediately.
Neff SEEMS to have made a great coach with baseball and could further cement his status with a great Bball hire

Neff is waiting on "his guy", the only reason Brownell is still here is "his guy" wasn't available this past season

There are also finances involved. This past season saw a nice uptick in attendance with the success we were having early, and our ACC standing starting out so strong. We had I think 4 sellouts this year at Littlejohn. I can't recall the last time we hit that mark. Last year when Neff used the term 'bottom line business' in his letter, finances were as involved in that as much as post-season action. Clemson Nation delivered when promise and performance were aligned, and we were poised for more with the NIT field ahead.
Clemson Basketball is one of the absolute best opportunities out there in the college realm. It's God's Country, great pedigree and programs in league play, the fellow student and family vibe is all around, folks look out for one another, no real legends to have to emulate, and we're on constant national radar thanks to the success in other sports.
Were Neff to crack the basketball nut, that would be some legacy. That's pretty much the last piece out there all these years, and it's a big one as the only other revenue producer of the bunch.

we should also have an implosion ceremony with Little John, to rid the program of all its demons and be reborn.

Will make tournament next year and get an extension. As far as the portal goes, you obviously do not follow college basketball. That’s the way the game is played these days.
