Plenty of clowns here thought prices went up due to Biden...

And that Trump was going to bring them down. Here's one of this board's dumbest posters:
"The prices for grocery food products have gone up due to wasteful spending by Harris / Biden admin."
Let's say that louder for the people in the back: RLowTD thinks that Biden controls spending and that his spending somehow increased grocery prices.

Liberals price fix the oil market during elections. Liberals control hurricanes and make them hit red states. Liberals control sports media and give the SEC whatever they want. Liberals untie manac's shoes and cause him to trip. Liberals forced manac to not read books as a kid and become so close minded. Liberals made that slice of pie with extra sugar to spike manac's glucose levels.
Upset that something happened to you in life? Mad that your own choices made for a more difficult path? Feeling flustered because society makes it tough for you to do whatever the hell you want no matter who it negatively impacts?
Well worry no more, friends... And just Blame Liberals!
It's the easy way to excuse yourself from any accountability ... or better yet! You too can smugly comment on any situation while reaffirming your own biases and offering no real evidence or solutions in support... All in just seconds!

Lots of things affect inflation and the price of groceries in particular....
Dec 13, 2024, 11:23 AM
|
|
Everything from how much money the Government is printing, how much money the Government is borrowing, the cost to producers from Government regulations, labor costs, and energy costs to name a few...
Considering the Government (Congress and White House policy) has a great deal to do with certain aspects of these inflationary factors (i.e. deficit Government spending that drives the money printing presses as well as costly Government regulation and energy policy). That being the case, I wouldn't agree there is absolutely nothing a President (or Congress) can do that will increase or decrease the prices we ultimately pay for groceries or any other product.
How about we re-visit this whole price of groceries thing a year after Trump has assumed office and has actually had a chance to implement his policies. Let's look at this in 2026 to see which direction these things are headed and then make a fair assessment of it. If Trump's policies ain't working - then fair enough to criticize him over it.
But at this point - this article seems premature and wreaks of sour grapes from a partisan hack who simply wants to bash Trump even before he has gotten back in office.

The point is that we had to listen to Trumpkins go on and on about how he was going to lower prices (when he and Biden both helped raise them). Trump lied and said he would. Now that he's won, he's going back on what he says.
He's a con artist and a liar. It's hard to see why so many who adore him can't see that.

If he follows through with promises to levy blanket tariffs and deport farm workers, prices might actually go up. An economist or two think so. I listened to some of his discussion of tariffs. The poor dumb ####### has theories that came straight out of his ###. Of all the incompetence he’s surrounded by, nobody else believes tariffs won’t affect prices.

played a measurable part in driving up prices, specifically groceries....what caused the inflation rate to ease substantially on food?
Food at home was up 11.4% in 2022, 5.0% in 2023, and was 1.1 % YOY in Nov.
What shift in monetary policy and/or government regulation caused such an easing in price pressure? M2 has been steadily increasing over the last 14 months or so.

Track the energy (fuel) costs....
Dec 13, 2024, 4:09 PM
|
|
Over that same period average fuel costs in the USA went from a high of $5.05 per gallon in 2022 to $3.05 per gallon here in December 2024. Did the Biden Admin start easing back on some of their fossil fuel antagonism or was it the world market that reduced those prices?? How about the leveling off of inflation during those same years?? Was it due to the Fed raising interest rates or something else??
Simply put there are many different dials in how prices are affected in our economy but to simply infer that Government/White House policy have no affect simply flies in the face of reality.

It was USDA regulation to kill all those chickens and turkeys, which directly caused the high inflation in the price of eggs, chicken and turkey. Transportation of the food cost more because the increase in fuel costs caused by Russia. And all the workers are paid more now. A lot of you meth addicts have a hard time with cause and effect. Your teeth fell out, not because of the methamphetamine, but because of the impurities in the crystal and how you smoked it.

believing he was going to 'bring down food prices.' Come on Man! We are not near as dumb as the echo chamber tells you.
What we do know is Trump will not 1) take money from China, the Ukraine or anyone else or have it funneled through their crack-addict kid, and 2) create inflation by giving money (trillions) away to keep his family/party in power and on the dole.
And we know Trump will reduce bullchit red tape and nonsense costing businesses money and let the economy be the economy. All boats will rise.

Half of his voters were motivated by blind racism. The other half thought he was going to bring prices down. His average voter is very stupid, well below average. The average Trump voter actually thinks it healthy to eat his own feces and drink his own urine. Recycling, I'm sure you call it.
Then there is a tiny fraction of his voters who are billionaires and think they are going to control him. Only Leon gets to control him now.

It’s well known that a significant portion of his base is made up of proud boys, oath keepers, neo-nazis, klansmen, and other assorted white supremacists, along with those sympathetic to them. These are just the worst of the worst. That sort of trash makes up about 15% of the country. You know some of them. Everybody does. Of the ones who voted, 99% went to Trump. That’s 40-50% of his base.
Do you remember the Klan victory march for Trump in December, 2016? The Charlottesville MAGA march? January 6, 2021?
Yeah, the decent people who voted for Trump are in bed with the most disgusting people in this country. That’s the MAGA coalition.

it's not well-known that a significant part of Trump's base is made up of white supremacists.
The math doesn't even check out...for exapmle:
Proud Boys - estimates are a few hundred up to 6000 members Oath Keepers - they claim 38,000 members, but some estimates say it's much less - but we'll use 38,000
So must be a heck of a lot of other groups with a heck of a lot more members than these groups to get to "significant portion". What % would be significant to you?

Sometimes you need to finish reading a sentence before you shyt yourself. You missed the last part, "and those sympathetic to them." If you don't think at least 15% of this country is objectively racist and anti-semitic you are living in a fantasy. It's much higher than that, and they all voted for Trump. They don't all wear white hoods on the weekends, but you can bet a box of tampons that this site has more than it's share of them.
