Instead of creating super conferences they need to be going back to regional conferences with a maximum of 8 teams. There should not be games where college students are traveling 6 or 7 hours to a game. Regional games create better rivalries with better traditions. Who wants to watch Clemson vs BC, Syracuse or Louisville. Best conference alignment for Clemson would be: Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, UNC, NC State, Florida and Florida St. Which game would not be interesting?
That will never happen now, but it would definitely be much

better for all the non-revenue sports...really any sport except football! That's why the smart thing to have done would have been to keep the conferences like they were 10-12 years ago, for every sport except football. At least for the power five schools that really want to play big boy football. It should have been a simple matter, since the NCAA doesn't run the D-1 football bowls and CFP anyway.
Power five football should be under a completely different structure than the conferences, if that is what it takes to maximize the football revenue. And you wouldn't have this ridiculous difference between football TV revenue from the SEC & B10, and the other P5 conferences.
