no brainer, I think, with the ND game.
Hottest was Georgia; early 2000s. Coldest was UNC late 1990s.

That 2010 UofSC game was pretty chilly maybe because we lost, but Dabo promised to get it turned around and he did and now we're all spoiled by success and cry like babies over a similar season 11 years later. You know, that game. I know I know, the coaches make millions and we have incredible facilities and some of yall give a lot to iptay and buy season tickets and have the right to complain and we weren't ever supposed to have another mediocre year and...

It snowed several inches in Clemson the morning after the UNC game. I remember sitting in the Shoney’s on Tiger Blvd eating breakfast watching it come down.

As for the hottest, Clemson opened with Furman several years ago and I can remember the EMT's carrying people out of the upper decks on gurnies because of heat reactions.
One year against the Coots (probably 2000), it was a cloudy, overcast and cold day. Once the sun set, it got even colder. Clemson won (as usual) and it started sleeting right after the game as everyone was headed back to their cars.

The two coldest Clemson games I remember...
Oct 29, 2021, 12:05 PM
|
|
One was a game in Maryland back in the mid to late 80's. The game was played at the old Baltimore Memorial Stadium. Once the sun set it got bitterly cold. I was wearing shorts and a sweatshirt, and I probably would have frozen to death if someone didn't take pity on me and let me borrow their letterman's jacket.
The other was the 1979 Peach Bowl. Bitterly cold game. It was New Years Eve and were at the pre-game parade. It started to sleet and rain, I got wet, and then sat outdoors in the old Fulton County Stadium through that cold and windy game. It was miserable. Plus, we lost 18 - 24.

Wake game in Winston Salem in late 90’s. It was the game that it was 3-2 going in 4Q. Streeter ( who was supposed not to play due to a recent injury) came in for Woody D to save the game as no O that day.

One game to rival the ND game for wettest was Ga. Tech 2017. Cloudy, no rain for the tailgate, but right before kickoff it was a torrential downpour and stayed that way. Most of the crowd that left at halftime never returned.

the water flowing through the stands like it was a river. That's the only time I had ever seen that.
So for me, wettest was GT 2002.
Hottest UGA 2003. People were passing out left and right in the stands. Terrible heat.
Can't remember a "coldest" specifically. I remember some cold night games against UofSC but none stick in my head specifically.

ND for the wettest. There may have been a few pockets of "light" rain, but that 4th quarter was something else. I had on a poncho over top my waterproof jacket and still got soaked around the edges.
UGA in 2003 was the hottest. I was at the UGA game in 2003 as well. I saw 2 guys from my section get carried out by police, fire and rescue, and several others in other sections.
I left around halfway through the 3rd qtr and went to Peppinos. I got several glasses of water before I even thought of eating a slice and starting back with the beer. I remember going into the bathroom and just dumping one of the glasses of water on my head. I sat there, for hours, refusing to come out of the AC.

Wettest I've been to was 2017 against Georgia Tech. Was a night game and it poured the entire night. My poncho had a leak so I was absolutely SOAKED and it was cold. I barely made it that night, I think the adrenaline from cheering for our defense was the only thing keeping me warm lol

The puntrooskie game in 1988 was the wettest I’ve been to - was working on the sidelines for CBS holding a parabolic mic with full rain suit on and was drenched. I remember riding back on the crew bus to a hotel after the game and everybody was soaked but all the camera guys were asking each other “did you get it? I had no idea where the ball was”. I think the only one who got it was the home side camera guy near midfield.
Hottest was an away game against Auburn in 2010 - it was still 103 at about 5 pm. But pretty much any home game in September before they built the upper decks felt the hottest. I used to get sunburned on the west side of my face and didn’t wear a hat back then.

Not in DV but I froze my butt off at the Peach Bowl when we played Baylor. ND game is right up there for wet. Maybe not all time but I was soaked and was sitting under overhang with rain gear on.

Wettest through the game was definitely ND, but it rained hard at GA Tech 2017 and NC State.
Hottest was definitely 2003 UGA.
For cold, it wasn't DV, but the Music City Bowl against Kentucky. I think it was CJ Spiller's last game. There were snow flurries in the second half.

Don't know if it was the hottest ... but I remember a game back in the early 2000s when Tom O'Brien was coach at NCSU. Clemson had the lead by at least 2 TDs with about a minute left, and the temp was hovering around 100º F. O'Brien called all three of his TOs within that last minute or so. I wanted to smack him upside the head!

For me, the hottest I ever felt in DV was the T A&M game in 2019. I'm sure age may have contributed but that was after working outside on the farm all summer building fences for a horse pasture so I did have some tolerance for the heat.
The coldest I have ever been in DV was October 1992 against Duke when my 10 year old son and I had come down from IL. Not the coldest actual temps (high 50s) but we got soaked with rain before the game and then a cold northwest wind blew during the game. Shivered the whole game.
The best part was the Tiger victories in both games!
