Defense. It lacks the fire that it had and swagger. It has gotten worse since Goodwin has started. Adjustments seem to made against our defense when it plays well, but by the second half we are holding on for dear life. We lack the adjustments that others make. Our corners are good but the middle of the field is a glaring weakness that hasn’t been corrected.

Offense. It has improved dramatically, but play calling becomes weird once we get a lead. It becomes stagnant and predictable. Whoever, thought Mafah should have been playing last night was terrible at their job. I love Mafah, but he hurt the team last night. Dabo’s loyalty? Maybe idk 🤷. I would like thinking to change on playcalling, but see progress and am not for firing Riley. Spiller and Grisham, not as sure about.

Special teams. They performed when it mattered last night, Usually it has been a glaring weakness

With Haynes injury we’re getting pretty skimpy at RB. Eziomume is a fresh. I still trust Phil in last nights situation

I love Mafah. Liked him better than Shipley. Last night though he looked so slow. Like watching the Tyson-Paul fight. I wish they would let Sammy get a few carries. Check out his hs film. Speed and power and lower body strength and size

Maybe put him in for the jumbo package to carry the ball behind Woods and Page.

Jumbo package is not always that big a deal. . We had fourth and one and unfortunately, Woods just got blown up or totally missed his block. I think if you’re gonna run the jumbo package you should run straight ahead or right up the two big boys butts or have them to push the quarterback the yard you need.

Mafah is a liability right now , he can’t outrun anyone including linemen anymore . Had several gaps last nite that he should have gotten -0-15 yards and he is so slow he turned them into 2-3 yard gains . That lack of speed at Running back is hampering the offense in a big way.

Our RB stable is poor to non existence based on the lack of use of the kids sitting on the bench. Mafah performance last night was dismal at best. Surely the OC knows this fact but fails to sub when we need just a little extra help. We constantly lost yardage because the RB could not make 2 yards or ran backwards when he needed to go forward. Tick at the Coaching. No offense in the 4th Qtr. I, for one, thinks that Riley is no upgrade over Streeter.

There will be some solid backs in the portal and they could actually come in and earn their way into the starting lineup. But, we won't know if we don't try...
