Really looking forward to this trip. My first away game in the Midwest. Been planning on going for years. Weather looks mild, but rainy. Might chase some trout and check out the Lake Michigan dunes on Thur/Fri.

Gonna arrive Thursday. Do some hiking in Indiana Dunes NP on Thursday afternoon, take a stadium tour and check out the campus on Friday, might do some fishing on Sat morning.

I’ve been there twice this year since my daughter started grad school. It is sort of like an Augusta National feel. Beautiful place and the actual Notre Dame people are pretty cool and pretty nice. The locals at the Linebacker might be a little more like southern football fans. As their record shows, they don’t have the same home field advantage as places like Clemson. They just aren’t loud people. The Linebacker right across from campus is a classic dive football bar. The Fiddler’s Hearth downtown really does have the Irish Pub thing down, and they’ve decades of cool stuff on the walls.
They always win when I go, so I’m not going this week.

Same here. Had hotel all set for 2020 the Covid happened. Bucket list stadium for several of us. We are driving in from Easley, arriving Friday afternoon. Staying at a hotel called the Amish Inn in Nappanee, south of South Bend. Tailgating in the Gold lot north of campus. May have to try that Fiddlers Hearth Friday night.
