My dad - class of '63 - would love to have a Rat hat from back in the day. Myself (class of '87), I never experienced that but have heard stories from him about it. He lost his after they beat the Gamecocks in Columbia back in 1959 - the win allowed freshman to stop wearing the hat - a loss on Big Thursday meant you had to keep wearing it the rest of the semester.
Anybody here possibly know of one for sale?

I have installed 3 different versions of Linux Operating Systems named Red Hat v6.47+. Watching the game last night, I saw a Red Hat building the bkgd. Not sure if that helps you. But if I were you, I might focus my energy there. HTH

I just googled Clemson rat hat and it looks like they are out there for sale. I don’t know how original they are but I guess it’s worth the look.

Mine is in the kitchen China Cabinet. Very worn from being in and out of my back pocket back in ‘69. Good luck in your search. There is one out there somewhere.
