1st half notes:
- One of the better halves we've played all year offensively. Ball movement led to interior or cross-court passes in a way that it hasn't in previous games. We got into the paint a bit. Made our FTs
- I feel for Khavon Moore. He gets the start, opens the game with a wet 3 and then proceeds to kinda brain fart the whole half. An unfortunate learning experience. Hope he can give us some productive second half minutes because I think we could use his size on the floor
- Trey Jemison is Eli incarnate, isn't he? Obviously he's lacking the offensive polish that Eli had but you see that same mix of dumb fouls and horrendous officiating that reduced his career minutes substantially
- I'm warming to Curran Scott offensively but he's a defensive liability. Was hoping for more on that end from a senior grad transfer
- The officiating is pretty bad. While they 'balanced the scale' in the last few minutes, the calls still ultimately went against us and sustained an 8-0 run for Colorado in the middle of the half when we were making good swipes/blocks on the ball that were not fouls. The officiating in the TCU game was the best we've seen all season. I presume there must be two crews in Vegas for this tournament because these guys are definitely seeing a different game than the last crew...

Up at the half against a top 25 team. Proud of the staff and the players. Go Tigers.

2nd half notes:
-Zone got pretty cut up. Same with man. I'm not sure there was a good answer as to what we should've been in down the stretch. We're just going to struggle against teams with competent offenses. We don't have that many good defenders at this point. We'll see if the staff can continue to develop our players into better defenders
-Obviously a difficult final 5 minutes. There was some implosion there through questionable shot selection and some unfortunate ball handling. We were ahead for the majority of the game and had every opportunity to win it
-Can't make sense of why Newman was pulled on the final possession. At the time we didn't know if the final Buffs FT would be made. Regardless of miss/make there he needs to be on the floor

That was a great showing for a young team against a good opponent. I like what I'm seeing from this team thus far. Postseason expectations should remain low but there's some talent here and I'm excited to tune in for every game.
