With the great news of private equity coming in soon to make big deal with big 12 . This will lead to clemson fsu and miami to jump to big 12 .
What do yall think.

The Big 12 is just as bad, if not worse, than the ACC.

Doubtful. But what I want to know is where all those good folks that said we are going to the SEC / Big 10?
I always thought it was a mistake for Clemson to join with FSU on all these court shenanigans that just made both look bad. UNC is far more likely to get picked up ahead of FSU and they kept quiet.

Not only that. The ACC is a hot geographic mess too. But the Big 12 has no network, their 31.7 million contract scattered between ESPN and FOX (with many games not covered) is less money than the ACC and their CFP payout is 1 mil less than the ACC.

I think no.
If they do not drasticlly improve the situation why move?
Honestly the school isn the SEC abd BIG10 might love the money, but they hate tha their odds of getting into the CFP are marginal at best unless you are on of the big 4-6 schools.
Even a school that has won it all like Auburn has a snowballs chance in #### of doing anything in the preseason merely because they are in the modern SEC. It's a case of the SEC being too competitive for any CFP scenario that requires a team to get in based on winning a conference or getting to a title game undefeated and losing there.

If the money was competitive, I would love to see the ACC and B12 merge. Would be a very competitive coast to coast conference. Could be arranged based on geography into pods or divisions which would cut down on crazy travel but still include a few trips per year.

I’m hoping we can figure out a way out of this conference. This conference has done nothing but hurt our post season chances in almost every sport the last couple of years. I don’t like the SEC, but the ACC is already being considered a mid major conference and it continues to hurt us every year and joining BIG 12 won’t help that.

Not gonna happen.
The only role private equity is if private equity invest in a media company that buys TV rights.
I didn’t see any sensible private equity firm investing in a team, a university, an athletic department or Conference.

I believe Private Equity to be a factor in the future college landscape but there is no value in Clemson jumping to the Big 12.
I could see a joint Clemson/P-E agreement to help move to the SEC or BIG. … think of it as a exit loan that will be repaid in goods/services over time. … a Clemson sponsor

A PE requires an ability to quantify a revenue stream.
Nobody can quantify a future revenue stream for Clemson, ACC, big 12.
PE firms are not going to fund schools, universities, teams, conferences.
PE firm will fund a new nationwide league or a media company that buys rights for a new nationwide league.

Makes the juice worth the squeeze.
Honestly think it all boils down to what comes out of the Clemson/FSU/ACC lawsuits and any potential settlements (like reduced exit fee/GOR penalty). Also be worth seeing what the ACC $ situation will be with the new performance-based postseason $ distribution and if the TV money goes to uneven distribution based on top contributors. Also will be worth seeing what the projected deals for other leagues will be around 2030-31 when everyone else's deals come up.
I do believe the TV $ bubble isn't sustainable & there's gonna come a cycle where even SEC/B10 are gonna have to take a pay cut (since they're eating up most of the big money deals currently).

Big 12 could not even retain the two teams with the most reason for being there...first Arkansas in the old SWC, Broyles could not stand getting beat by Texas (grass always greener, look what they have) then misery leaves, at least they had big12 titles, then Nebraska, Colorado, Texas and Okie! Let's go there...you must be drunk!
