Clemson and FSU still leaving by June 30th?

Heard this deadline was because SMU, Stanford and Cal join the ACC on July 1 making the voting 18 members rather than 15 members. So if the conference is going "implode" before June 30th you would need 8 current ACC members all announcing they were leaving the ACC to help dissolve the conference and the ESPN GOR contract by 6.30.24.... and it would take 10 members after July 1st.
Pretty sure there are not 8 ACC members that are being offered landing spots. BUT hypothetically, i think if there was an outside chance of this happening in the next 5 days the offers would most likely look like this
BIG 10 Clemson, FSU, UNC and Virginia
Big 12 Miami, NC State, VA tech, PITTs.... maybe Louisville
Thoughts?

They won't be leaving on June 30 because they have until August 15 to join the NFL.

Pure speculation.

Guessing the date when Clemson and FSU announce is like guessing the date when the first hurricane of the season will hit South Carolina, or predicting the exact date of the rapture.
Everybody can guess, but most will be wrong.

While it looks like FSU and Clemson are tracking to depart (Ref: below Josh Pate update), from what I'm reading and viewing, these issues are holding up departure:
1. B1G is interested but not willing to commit until a university commits to leaving their current conference. Likely there are tampering/legal reasons. 2. TV money has to be finalized with networks/conference/schools. Full share? Timing of full share? 3. Reading between the lines, most expect B1G to offer FSU. Then, is either Notre Dame, Tx A&M or UNC wanting and READY to join B1G? If not, Clemson is on deck. 4. Some so-called experts expect SEC to potentially make a counter-offer to their preferred schools whan-and-if B1G makes a move. Are these UNC, Clemson, other? Do FSU and SEC dislike each other too much for FSU to join SEC (Bret)? 5) To your point tigerfan5377, the 6/30 deadline theoretically revolves around of ESPN's right to unilaterally dissolve the ACC football contract if the conference dips below 14 schools. Of course, that would leave FSU (Clemson or other) hanging out there if no invitations surface. Likely too much risk. 6) North Carolina, Florida and South Carolina court cases add even more wrinkles.
Lots of complex legal and risk issues out there. Above my pay grade. But interesting and no bigger issues out there for Clemson. BOT, chancellor, president, AD and more have their hands full.

They are suing the ACC because they don’t won’t to have to count on even 1 member to leave/vote with them.

Clemson and FSU aren't leaving the ACC until Fall 26 so they still have another year to give notice.

But, But, but I thought that Clemson and FSU had to be out by start of FB season bc Jim Phillips said they weren't going to pay either a dime, then he said, SUE US Biotches
