Thank you, Eric, for saying/wondering what some of us have been thinking for awhile. Dabo's probably going to be mad at you, but just tell him you're trying to do your job. Dabo is big on that (the "trying", not necessarily the "doing").

Incredible game for CK. What a gamer. At least two of his incomplete passes were drops and we didn’t have to use that as an excuse for the QB play. Just night and day difference. And even with that I’ll be the first to say I bet Dabo starts DJ in the orange bowl. If he does that’s just criminal. Go tigers.

My point was that even with how obvious it is that CK has earned the right to start and proved last night he is above DJ on the depth chart DJ will start. Dabo gave Cade some praise in his after the game on the field interview but not nearly what it should have been. That was about the cleanest and well executed 3 quarters of football for a QB and Dabo still managed to say “we don’t win 10 without DJ”. I don’t know what it is about DJ but man he treats him like no other player.
I can remember when TL had that terrible half against Louisville. Dabo came right out and said “that’s about the worst performance you could have for a half at QB”. He’s never said anything like that about DJ even though last week was worse.
That’s why I think he will start DJ. Not because he should not because DJ is anywhere close to QB 1.

Did you notice how subdued Dabo was in the immediate postgame interview? He is kicking himself for not handing the offense to Cade last week. We would not have lost our home streak to our bitter rival, a much-less-talented team than we are or UNC. And the announcers think if we had won that game decisively, we might be in the CFP because TCU and Southern Cal lost this weekend, and Ohio State got stomped last week. Dabo knows we missed the CFP again because of his stubbornness about DJ. It is on his head and he knows it. Saban, Beamer, Smart, Day and Mack Brown would have benched DJ long ago, if they had the No. 1 high school quarterback in the nation having great practices as a freshman, not to mention the comeback that Cade led against Syracuse. The second-highest-paid college coach in the nation should not make mistakes like that. That said, I still think Dabo is a great coach and I am proud of the program he has built. If everybody comes back next year on offense, we are going to be awesome on that side of the ball. But it will be a rebuilding year on defense, and there is no way Wes Goodwin is the recruiter that dynamic, charismatic Brent Venables is. Plus Dabo doesn’t want to use the Portal to replace juniors headed to the NFL. But, hey, let’s celebrate tonight. Go Tiguhs!

What could have been. I just don't understand why this could not have happened sooner. All of a sudden, Cade is ready. You couldn't have given him a try last Saturday? One or two plays could have won the game. LAST WEEK!!!
