Who are the top QBs to ever play at Clemson not named Tlaw, DW4, or Tajh Boyd?

Iāve been seeing all these posts asking who the best DBs and OLs were for Clemson. I saw a lot of comments that named players from anywhere between 1960ās-90s. Now I donāt know much about these players because they played way before I was even born but I do love learning more about these older players.
So those posts have got me wondering about who out of all the starting QBs that ever played for Clemson match up with our 2-3 best recent QBs in Trever Lawrence, Deshaun Watson, and Tajh Boyd. The only starting QBs I have seen play in my time watching Clemson football is Kyle Parker, Tajh Boyd, Cole Stoudt, Deshaun Watson, Kelly Bryant, Trevor Lawrence, DJ Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik. So it would be cool to learn about how good the old starting QBs were for Clemson before I became a fan. Maybe CBProfĀ® can give some insight on how good the older QBs were for us.
One other questionā¦ what are your top 5 Clemson QBs.

4. Cole Stoudt
5. Kyle Parker
Tho Iām sure there are bettor all time Clemson QBs then my #4-#5 ranked players but Iām only basing these rankings on the QBs I have watched in my lifetime.

Yep Charlie and Woody came to mind as great QBs that could pass. We had some pretty darn good running QBs back in the early 80s. I never saw Fuller play.

Steve Fuller should be on any list of top Clemson QBs.
Rodney Williams did a great job running Danny's option offense in the late 80's.

Look up Steve Fuller. There is a reason that I had him third on my list. He was the ACC player of the year in 1977 and 1978. He was also the ACC scholastic player of the year twice. Steve embodied the true concept of a student athlete. He was drafted in the 1st round at number 23. For fun, look up the video Super Bowl Shuffle. You will see Steve and William Perry!

Cole Stoudt and Kyle Parker? they make the top 20. How about
Steve Fuller,Homer Jordon(who won a natty) Rodney Williams,
Woody Danzler and many more before those two.

LOL I agree. Any of those QBs are way bettor than the last 2 I ranked on my list. Though I only put Kyle Parker and Cole Stoudt on my list because I was basing my rankings off of the QBs I have seen play in my life time. Which was from 2009-present Clemson QBs.

This conversation cannot happen without Steven Ray Fuller! He did not have the talent of a Watson TLaw, but like them, he knew how to win, and could handle the pressure of the game. I am biased, I watched Clemson struggle to beat the Dukes and Citadels of the world. A glimmer of hope in 1974, became disaster in 75 and 76. Charley
Pell, a young assistant named Danny Ford, and Steve Fuller made this then teens orange heart come alive! By the way, feel the same about Homer Jordan!

Lol no offense taken. I was actually born in 1999 but I became a fan of Clemson in 2008 when my dad (Who is a Clemson graduate.) first introduced me to them. Thatās what my user name means btw, because I became a Clemson fan in 08.
And my list only has recent QBs on it because the QBs Iām most familiar with are from the 2009 to present Clemson teams. I didnāt even know who was QB before Kyle Parker was until I just googled it.
Thatās why I posted the above question because I wasnāt too familiar with Clemsons older quarterbacks and I wanted to learn more about the older players.

Did anybody mention Mike Eppley? Didnāt he at least partially beat out Homer Jordan after Jordan had won a national championship? Eppley was also the starting point guard on the basketball team.

Again these rankings are my personal ranking of the 2009-present Clemson QBs NOT an all time Clemson QB ranking.
The reason why the list is made up of recent Clemson QBs is because that is when I first got into Clemson football (in 2008) so I only am familiar with the QBs from then to the present. This is just a fun post about Clemson QB rankings but you are taking this WAY too seriously. You can disagree with me but you donāt have to be rude about it.

Steve Fuller didnt fall out of bed and get into the Ring Of Honor. Deshaun had to get special permission to wear his number. He took a team to the Super Bowl. Any other answer is willful ignorance.

The game was a lot different in the late 70s. The wish-bone, power I and triple option were king back then and the QB passing yardage meager compared to today's stats. Only the West Coast teams fooled around with heavy passing attacks with modest success. Championships were won with the running game snd solid defense.
However, Steve was a true difference maker in the game and brought Clemson to the national stage at the right time in history, defeating Woody Hayes in dramatic fashion sealed destiny for the football Tigers. And while there were some bumps in the road, we never really looked back. Now, all the world wonders, love us or hate us, how good will Clemson be this year!

Definitely not Stoudt or Parker. I would have to go with Homer Jordan next. Hard to top winning our first national championship. Then Woody Dantzler & Charlie Whitehurst (flip a coin).

My 4th is Cade despite how people have acted about the kid on this site in particular hes been one of the statistical best to do it at Clemson and has exemplified what it means to be developed.
