I remember when Clemson gave up 35 points to a bad Lamecrock team under Coach BV and the players were looking at sidelines waiting on defensive playcall and they were snapping the football.
I was not happy but Clemson was in firm control from start of game and won 56-35. I do not remember any players saying much but I bet they were not happy. Maybe somebody did say something but overall I just remember that QB threw for over 500 yards on Clemson. Was not the best night for BV or the Clemson defense.

I can understand. I can't count the times I've yelled at the field and Tv over the past 10 years, "Get set defense", while they're waiting for the call to come in from the sidelines.

Question for the board. I see this a lot across football where the offense waits for the D to lineup and get set. Seems like if they just went ahead and snapped the ball it would be a big play.
Why do teams do this?

and Vandy players. Bama should have been able to hang with them just on that alone. Not getting a defensive call in on time is a VERY weak excuse for taking a win for granted, and finding out it ain't always handed to you. A lesson learned, and the Coots will be the beneficiaries of it this week.
Now, if Bama somehow loses to Lil Shame Beamer, they will need a Mass Transit System to handle all the defections from Bama via the Portal.
