How is South Carolina and Beamer out recruiting Clemson right now for 2024? South Carolina's never won anything, they've got Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson and Florida in their way. The campus and the city of Columbia is a dump. I just don't get it. Are they just buying players? Is this the new college football, or if you've got a little bit of money, you can buy people to play for you? I understand I'm biased, but I grew up in that area, and I know all about it. Outside of lake Murray, there are no redeeming qualities

do any of their players ever come back to visit or pay homage to their alma mater? Only one i ever saw do that was Lattimore. Clemson has guys back all the time. Just to watch a game or to coach or to simply visit and say hello. I don't think anyone ever wants to come back to the cockroach. ITs like an old job or something to their players. No substance. Now its really going to be alienated b/c they're only going for a paycheck. But if you're carolina, you gotta do what you gotta do to be relevant. If they're lettign you use that SEC money to pump up your NIL budget then you have to do it. Why not. ITs not like you're trying to preserve some ethic or standard there.. its a dump with bad vibes.

Exactly, I can't imagine having offers from Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Florida and go to my parents and say " I think I'm gonna go play at South Carolina" If it were my son, I would question his sanity.

CD11, there's probably several teams that have a better current ranking than us at the current time. Let's see what happens in December.
I'll give props to Shane. He's trying to sell the same thing Dabo sold a decade ago. And props that he's recruiting better than any coach has at sc. If you're talking about a couple in-state kids he got that we didn't... meh. We'll get our share.
Personally, at this point, it's a big nothing burger. Local media will hype beamer up for a few years... let's see if they start actually producing something.

I agree with you completely on this post. It just boggles my brain when high profile Recruits pledged to that school. I can't get my head around it. Maybe my bias is just blinding me.

It seems to defy logic. My uneducated guess is that it is a combination of factors. First, their unlikely win over us gave them some positive recruiting momentum. Second, the reality is that the SEC label carries weight with these kids. Third, like it or not, fraud or not, kids seem to buy into Beamer's message and enthusiasm.
All that being said, if they go out and lay an egg this fall by going 6-6 or 7-5 with beat downs from us and UGA, you will likely see many decootmitts. To me this is the year they either take the step toward legitimacy or stay mired in mediocrity.

I can't remember the last time they weren't higher than us in the recruiting rankings prior to June. They have 10 commits to our 8 (technically we have 7 because 1 is a kicker). Once we reach commitment #21 the point total for the kicker comes off. Of course right here on 5/9/23, their point total should be higher, 10 > 7.5
It won't be that way once the class of 2024 is settled. We do this on this board every single year.

Some kids want to be in a big school in a city and some want to be in a small town. Some kids buy the hype of the playing in the SEC and some understand that where you play makes no difference to the NFL where you play. There is nothing to worry about because we will get our players, there are enough to go around.

Dabo has proven over and over since he became a head coach that he does not have to win recruiting rankings to win championships. 6 straight playoffs, 2 Championships and I don't believe we ever won the recruiting trophy. The current uptick at Cooterville is something that happens every 10 years or so. Always has, always will. It is just normal cycles. The good news is, their "highs" are never as high as Tiger highs and Coot "lows" are way lower than anything Clemson will ever experience. Not to worry!

Actually, the lamecocks have closeby access to the SC state prison. So, when they commit a crime, they do not have far to travel. Also, the prison offers a good education, nice uniforms and great food for lamecock transfers.

Easy! Beamer is a good coach; the players like him; he beat Clemson last season (due to Swinney's fault of not bring in our better QB; etc.

Beamer is a quality coach. First one “they” have had since Spurrier. He can and will compete with Dabo for players. He will get a few. Dabo will get the ones he really needs,
S.C. will no longer be a sure win. Our SOS needs improving. This will help.
I watched the entire game closely in Death Valley this past season and I didn’t see a chicken player who didn’t come to play big boy football.
DABO knows what is happening in Capitol City I assure you.
