to Clemson if we finally get the deal done. Would love to see a couple decide to come with him if they can legally switch. He has some good instate talent signed up for next season.

They could ask for a release but coc would probably ban transfers to Clemson since we play them and just to keep there class from falling apart.

CofC would get some pretty bad press if they did that

Clemson could also get transfers of current CofC players, since there's a 1-time transfer exception for sports other than Football, Basketball, and Men's Ice Hockey.

Any kid that transferred would have to sit out a year. The 1-time transfer rule that allowed them to play immediately was eliminated in 2008.

crap you're right. Baseball is in the group that doesn't have the 1-time exception now.

You want their coach. Now want their players? Really? I thought B LeCroy did a good job recruiting? This is the ACC the second best conference in the country. You cannot compare number of wins between the two schools. They most likely wouldn't have a winning record in the ACC or SEC. Slow your roll.

Obviously we wouldn't want the whole roster, but if you think their best players/top recruits couldn't make our team you're delusional

No way that will happen this late in the game. And only a couple that would be Clemson caliber anyway.

I was thinking about the C of C recruits from SC. I have no idea what he has coming from out of state. But, he never got many top level recruits from SC because most of those guys were already committed to SC and Clemson. Most of what he got were kids he could afford to take a chance on. Some turned into very good players. Many did not. Like Clemson and SC, most of his better players came from out of state.
A couple of the SC kids enrolling there this fall would probably play at Clemson as freshman, but the rest would not. It's a lot easier to take the second tier kids if you're playing in the 17th ranked conference than it is playing in the 2nd ranked conference. For the most part, he will now be targeting different kids than he did at C of C.
It will be interesting to see if he follows the SC model and brings in 40-45 kids per year, or sticks closer to the 35 man limit.

Sure they can. They just can't play anywhere but Clemson next year, unless they are released from their NLI's. HOWEVER, any of them that have not signed NLI's, and there are probably several of those among their SC "commitments", could switch to Clemson right now.

DUH, correction. They cannot play anywhere but C of C next year, unless released from their NLI's or are preferred walkons.
