Cade or Tajh?

Who would you rather have behind center this year when the cannon goes off and LSU is in Death Valley?
Different times, different systems. Just curious

Love Cade, but Tajh threw a beautiful deep ball and that could make a difference with scoring major points with the wide receiver core we have. Nevertheless, Tajh had NFL talent with Watkins and Hopkins (Nuk) running routes. (Not trying to take anything away from Boyd). Cade seems to be better with his legs. The only big play I remember Tajh making with his legs was against Ohio State in the 2013 Orange Bowl and boy did he turn in the jets.

Tajh could get that 3rd and one or two with his legs every time.

I guess you forgot how Tajh was third and automatic anything under three yards. The dude was a bulldozer.
I’d have loved to see Tajh with the supporting cast from 2018. He had no o line, no defense, and still put up video game numbers.
Cade is great as well. He’s only had a real WR room for one season and his numbers were insane. 36 TD 4 INT. 3600+ yards. I’ll take Cade. He is pretty good.

Tajh had DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, and Martavis Bryant.
No offense, but those first two are better than anyone on our current team.
So to judge Cade against that, is unfair.

I agree. That’s why I said different times. Tough comparison. Neither can be compared against Trev or DW though. That’s what was interesting to me

Gotta jump in & agree. It was almost impossible to overthrow Sammy Watkins, If Cade had him on the field his deep ball passing would be viewed completely different

I would love to say Cade but I am going with Tajh. Hopefully by the end of the of the year I will say Cade. These receivers are really good and Cade should have multiple 300+ passing yard games.

Slight edge to Tajh, so far has been more “clutch” than Cade.
Cade has improved slightly in this category ( see SMU and Pitt wins) but he also has sometimes makes mistakes at key times (2023 FSU OT, Miami OT, 2024 Coots last drive INT)
I would say Tajh had the clutch gene and the jury is still out on whether or not Cade has it.

Tajh. Mostly because of Tajh’s tough running ability.

Same here. Love Tajh. I don’t think many people replying to this post had the same attitude when he was playing. He was heavily criticized

Give me Cade. Tajh Boyd was awesome but I think Cades significantly quicker and can rip off long runs(see pitt). We finally get to see what Cade looks like with talent around him and a run game. The Louisville game on no one was threatened by the run game(fairly certain they were the first to decide and test how injured Mafah was and if Clemson had trust worthy depth at rb) and knew they could tee off on the QB and play aggressive pass defense.

Tahj was one of the purest passers I’ve seen. It just looked smooth and his passes were just good looking throws. I’ve always thought Cades deep throws look unusually high. Maybe it’s just me, but they just seem to go far higher than other’s deep throws and don’t look “normal”.
