I think they're really emphasizing the non-conference records:

UNC out of conf = 7-5
Oklahoma out of conf = 13-0

Not to defend UNC too much, but UNC played 9 teams out of conference with a winning record currently, while Oklahoma has played only 4.

Four of those out of conference wins were against decent to good teams. Six were sister Sadie of the poor. One was Louisville. Great win. Arizona great win. Georgia Tech (early) ok win. We shall see how it shakes out in the NCAAT. The ACC was king last year (win %) with the lowest number of seeds. I think we see the same this year.

The ACC was once considered THE TOP Basketball conference. Now ESPN has convinced fellow media, recruits, and most of the world that SEC Basketball just means more. A self-fulfilling prophecy leading to round 1 SEC losses.
