Brent Key hilarious statement on their game this Saturday

“Bobby-Dodd Stadium is going to be rocking on Saturday night. From 7 until about 10:30 at night. It is the greatest venue in the country to be able to play a night game here at Bobby-Dodd”

They still got that train whistle? How about the parking garage right across the street? Which is all just a few blocks from the actual city.

Neither the word “greatest” nor the adverbial phrase “in the country” apply to GT for anything. Especially not their space wasting stadium in Atlanta.


Our loss to them in Bobby-Dodd this year doesn’t mean anything to the overall point. So, no bias intended here.


Key said “in the country”. He’s asking for it

Actually it isn't a train whistle. It is a whistle sound that used to be generated from the steam plant the Institute used to use to signal class start and end times back in the day. My sense is the sound is just a recording.

GT beat Dabo. They are 9-1 and at the top of the ACC. They are doing much better than Clemson these days.

Got to give Tech some props. It is a great venue at night with the city as the backdrop. Great fan experience and presents well on TV. One of my favorite venues in ACC. Not a bad seat in the place unless it’s obstructed view.

I have to agree. They have the best stadium in the ACC behind us and FSU.

It’s one of the few classic college football stadiums left. It has a great view of the skyline and feels really historic inside too.

I’ll never forget sitting behind a column watching the game on a TV screen while water dripped down below from the upper deck.

They have a new “football only” building under construction in corner of Bobby Dodd. Although there were still some empty seats, they had an electric environment for the Clemson game. I think we better get used to Brent Key and GA Tech being very very relevant in our league for years to come. I personally hope they annihilate UGA!

Apparently Tech has a new partnership with the stadium and is getting a guaranteed $10 Million for playing the game there.

“Financial incentive: Georgia Tech will receive a guaranteed $10 million from hosting the game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a major financial boost compared to playing at its usual home field.

Stadium agreement: The move is part of a six-year contract Georgia Tech signed with the stadium that requires them to play at least one annual game there.”
