Perspective from a Tiger Alum at the OU Game

Ive been living in OK for the past 10 years and work with quite a few OU grads so I keep a pretty good pulse on the OU sports world. Watching the game from the outfield bleachers the OU fans were confident but nervous after we took the lead 7-4. This game was a momentum roller coaster. OU had it till Moores homerun. We kept it till the rally/meltdown in the 7th. From there the feeling in the stadium pretty much switched to a not if, but when, OU would take the lead and keep it. When Bahl (OU pitcher) struck out Cagle in extra innings the OU faithful pretty much sighed relief and knew they could probably walk away with a victory. As for the game tieing homerun, myelf and another CU fan were puzzled as to the pitch location and call...but again being in centerfield it was tough to notice whether the placement was intentional. Overall OUs fans were gracious and not rude. I even got a few "great game, heck of a ball team" comments as i left the stadium. I like where our program is headed but we missed a heck of an opportunity for a statement victory, even if we had still went on to lose the series. OU's offensive lineup was stacked top to bottom and it showed....tough loss but proud to be a tiger!

It was a great year by our Lady Tigers. As for pitch location, there is no pitcher alive, on any baseball or softball team, that can hit the spot every pitch. The pitchers that have the most success can get by with mistakes. The Lady Sooner hitters were so good that they were able to hit any pitch as 5 home runs show.

True...Cagle definetly wasnt on her 'A' game...but unfortunately OU as a team was head and shoulders better. We are good, they are elite. Still a good season but we definetly blew a chance for a program defining win.

To all you people grumbling about the pitch, go out there and try to do it yourself. Bunch of idiots. Congratulations to Cagle and the Tigers. 4 years into a program and everybody knows about Clemson Softball. Proud to be a Tiger!

Dunno if the pitch selection/location was intentional...if so it does seem like a suspect decision. No one is questioning the difficulty/skill that it takes to perform at the D1 level. There's a reason we are all sports fans and not actual athletes. Val had a heck of a season, theres no doubt about that. Same goes for the team and the program as a whole. Unfortunately, the other side of the argument also bears mentioning. Against the number 1 team in the country, our best player had a rough go of it, you can even make an unfortunate argument that maybe the stage was too big...it happens. Either way, good things are ahead and proud of the team.

outside of cagle we are simply just good, not great. Oklahoma has probably 5 players as good as Cagle. Coach needs to hit the recruiting trail HARD. but regardless, pretty good considering we are only in our 4th year as a program
