If there were an all powerful being able to make this scenario happen where the team was given these choices, yeah you have to take the L to SC to guaranty a spot in the ACC championship.
A chance at an ACC championship win automatically gets you in the playoff where a win over SC does not. Heck, there'd be a decent chance we would face SC again in the playoff and that's where you can get your sweet revenge.

Beating USC is always great but you have to look at the bigger picture here. Getting to and winning the ACCCG is the only sure way to get to the CFP.
