I appreciate the difficulty in racking and stacking Tiger Dline greats. Your list is as solid as any I generated, and I admit to some bias in my favorites. Nice job.

Bogus list if McGlockton isn't in the top 10.

I realize this is a toughie to rank..but come on. McGlockton and Buckner could bump at least 3 of those above them.

The list relies too much on sacks and TFLs, the linemen under DF main focus was to keep OL off LBs. I think they still do that some but not on almost every play like back then! I think the DTs at SC occupy blocks to a larger extent that at Clemson today.
I agree that McGlockton should be just behind the Perrys...

Mickey, Chester has got to be on this list! In fact, top 3 on this list at worst!

McGlockton and Buckner were talented but neither made an All-American 1st, 2nd or 3rd team in college. They were much better pros than they were in college.

McGlockton was an absolute monster at Clemson!

He was sensational as a freshman, but when Danny Ford was fired, he lost some of his focus and got a bit lazy. Then he left early for the NFL. If Danny had stayed and Chester had played his entire career, he would have left no doubt that he belonged in the Top-5 best DL in Tiger history. Maybe the best ever in fact. At any rate, relegating him to "honorable mention" is sort of ridiculous.

Jim Stuckey deserved more recognition on the list, but this ranking would be quite challenging to create.

Mickey , I like the list but I would like to see only former plauers on it . Reason being , let's say Big Dex were to quit football before the opener against Kent State ...then he'd have to be removed from it ...without a doubt . I'd put McGlockton and Buckner up there in place of Wilkins and Lawrence ...for now ??

I love Lawrence and Wilkins, and they may end up being the best we have had here. However, and maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit of a reach to put them on here over guys like McGlockton, Buckner, and even Carlos Watkins. Just my two cents...
