Last week some posted as to old Blues Stringers

One of the best as to vocals and with a guitar is often over looked -- Buddy Guy.

Here's another one often overlooked. Albert King claimed to be a half-brother of B.B. King, but I don't think anyone ran any DNA tests in those days:

Here's another somewhat overlooked blues legend - and a favorite of mine - T-Bone Walker:

Here's a live performance with Chuck Berry:

Albert is my fav Blues Stringer.
He and BB play different style - both excellent.
BB can make one nick on a string play for a minute, Albert hits it and moves on.
Play Albert too loud as he deserves that.

If Robert, Eric, and Jimmy sit down playing back up - you might be special.

You gotta love the way B.B. listens to and encourages the guys as they play - he's the master appreciating what he's taught and the way the students carry on his teaching.

I think he enjoys it as much or more than I do.

Can't say that I've listened much to Blues Stringers but when I have heard some I like it.

I have also listened to some Harmonica Blues and I like that too.

Sonny Boy was one of my favorites - introduced to me by black musicians long after his best days. His talent was never fully appreciated - just didn't gert the air time.

And if anyone thinks that "Hound Dog" was an original for Elvis Presley, they need to understand where Elvis grew up and who influenced his style:

Elmore James another old-timer who had a very original way to strike the same chord repetively that became a blues standard lick:

Here's the sad story of Big Mama's lack of financial success from "Hound Dog" - a story too often shared in those days (and later - just ask me) by other musicians who were shafted by agents and recording studios:

I once met Clarence Gatemouth Brown and drove him around Asheville for Bele Chere back in the day.

When I was a young boy coming up there was an old lady named Cora in the community. She had an out of tune piano, she could beat out a few cords but Lord could she tell a story.
