In 2016 , a National Championship season, we beat them 30-24 in Death Valley, and Troy could have won that game!

I suppose we can stop scheduling them, but I don't really want that & our rivalry with SC is important to most of us outright.
We could, to your point, also schedule no FCS teams & replace them with another power-4 team to get more than 20% of our OOC games on this top-ten list in the future, or both of our non-P4 opponents in any given year. We'll make more money from the games at least & then we might approach nearly half the games on a list like this I guess, just seems weird to think about.

I agree with him about being legitimately competitive this year, but I'm curious; if he had a clue, where would he rank us & where would you rank us instead?

I don't think he has a clue about LSU's defense. Describing an entire side of the ball as a few tricks up their sleeve is lazy journalism. As far as him holding us in high regard, he's just jumping on the bandwagon.
