Agree. I think it was the best total team performance ever, especially considering the importance of the game. It would have to rank as one of the top five most important games in Clemson history.

The first one of next season will replace it in my heart. Then the next, and next...I'll skip one when we lose.

1981 National Championship vs Nebraska was a classic and should not be left out of the list. Our first national championship, thought there would be many more. Just didn't think it would take this long, but we should be in many more in the next few years.

One of my favorite games that I attended was not really a big game. But it was a good one , the Wake game where Adams blocked the FG that would have prolly put us away. I will always remember that game.

WF-Adams game.

I was at home in Columbia to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My dad was in the final stages of his battle with cancer. We watched the game until they lined up for the field goal that Adams blocked. We turned the tv off prior to the kick because we had to leave for church for their anniversary celebration.
We didn't turn on the radio on the way.
As the celebration began, a neighbor, who was a huge gamecock fan walked up and said...heck of a game for you guys today. I shook my head and said, it certainly wasn't our day. He stared at me for a couple seconds and started laughing. You didn't watch the whole game did you. No, we had to leave at the start of the 4th quarter. That was the first I heard we had come back and won.
This is that one gamecock fan that you know that regardless of the season, you are always going to have a smart comment back and forth, so I didn't know if I should believe him or not. Finally got it confirmed from a Clemson fan in attendance.
My dad and I watched the end of the game when we got back home that night. That was the last game we saw together...we lost him that December.
This will always be my favorite game even if there were no championships attached to it.

It was cold and wet that day I told my crowd if they hit this FG we are gone. For 3 quarters it was miserable but the whole 4th made up for it.

Yes! I was in wake for that game also. A buddy of mine from HS was at wake and I sat in their student section. It was a glorious meltdown.

I was at this game... what an unbelievable change of events in one play.
Terrible weather, and actually a terrible game up until that play.

1900 season,1901 Gilford, 1903 GT. Need to give Heisman props. I think he invented the blowout. Running up the score was the desired outcome.

Surprised no one mentioned 2003 Home vs FSU #3
This was the first super bright sign that we can again compete with the country's best.
James Davis and Spiller commitments soon thereafter...

2009 vs FSU CJ Spiller with turf toe shredding the Noles 4th quarter comeback DeAndre McDaniel pick and running over Ponder And the most magical moment I've ever experienced in Death Valley, maybe anywhere: We Will Rock You where all 81000 of us yelled those lyrics at the topening of our lungs.

Clemson unexpectedly beat Herschel Walker and the National Champ Georgia 13-3 at Death Valley after looking like crap against Wofford(in the first half) and Tulane in their two earlier games. That was the game that made us a serious football program and propelled us to a National Championship. That defense was insane that day, forcing Walker to fumble two or three times and intercepted(I think) four passes. The offense did just enough to lead and kill clock. It was one of the most exciting games ever and the crowd was loud all game long amazing loud for only 60,000 comparable to the 80,000 we have today in noise. I LOVED it and it sticks in my memory.
