Looking for a good casual spot to eat tomorrow night after an IPTAY event. It's been a while since I've been out to eat in Clemson. Blue Heron is booked up. Thinking Sardi's Den?
Any suggestions? Casual spots only. Thanks!

Mac's was great when I was student in the 70's. Like many of you, a few times Mac let me leave a ticket to be paid later. As I recall you just printed your name on it and he laid it up in basket or box. The next time you went, you paid it off. I never asked for a tab, but he would notice if I wasn't eating with my buds like I normally did. He'd offer to put a burger on a tab and I never turned him down.
I never heard of anyone not going back and paying up.

I was a student 98-02... ate there 4-5 times a week. Mac was the best. Pat runs it now. Great guy. I believe Ester is still in the kitchen. She was working there 20 years ago when I was a freshmen.

I think Sardi's may be your best bet - can't beat their ribs or peel and eat shrimp. If you want bar food - either Esso, Loose Change, or Backstreets.
Palmetto's Oyster Bar is pretty awful and I'm not sure how they are still open to be honest.

if all those places are packed you can always cruise down to copper river in Seneca. Not bad for a chain.

Sardi's or Sole at the Walker Course. You can get a good burger there and nice outdoor seating by the lake.

Wife nd I went to the Sole in downtown Augusta and didn’t realize it originated in Clemson. We enjoyed the one here in Augusta and have returned several times. Worth checking out.

Best wings in Clemson area is at The Islander Pub and Grill in Pendleton. Great beer selection also.

A primo Clemson Themed brewery or primo pub/eatery with outdoor big screens, game area, but with simple but good menu etc. kinda like the Fr8 Yard in Spartanburg. Seems like easy money someone get on it bc its needed. There’s never been a go-to for food in Clemson...Athens has about 10, UnC has places, scar has places, Bama has places... where’s Clemson’s? I guess Macs and Smokin Pig but in Clemson? Not much.
