That it’s going to take some getting used to their new DC not constantly repeating that he’s “gotta watch Wapner, definitely Wapner” or having a Little Debbie Swiss Cake Roll in his hand at all times, and having him actually make eye contact with the players when talking to them was shocking as well, but he thought the changes were positive.

I’ve been saying for a few years that our defense has been lacking the intensity and explosiveness it had when Venables was here. I really hope we are going to see that return this year. So far it sounds good.

I seem to recall Boulware saying his freshman year that he told his teammates to not take offensive opponents' players all the way to the ground so he could "assist" with the tackle. Boulware had zero fear and played fearlessly, hoping he can get that mindset blended with CTA's scheme so our 'Backers play fast and fiercesome.

Notice how BB would shoot the open gaps to get to the football. Sooner Sammy learns that instead of dancing with blockers and arm tackling from the side or behind, sooner he will become a true blue killer like BB was.

You remember the last 2 years of Boulware. He knew every play we ran inside out. He also knew every play the offense was going to run as well as anyone in the country, especially that last year.
When you know that much, you have a level of confidence that is unmatched.
Sammy will get there soon enough. He's going to be much more comfortable in year 2 (even with a new DC).
