Believer in prayers

I graduated from Clemson in 1984. I was a student during our first National Championship in 1981, and was at the game in Miami! I loved my time at Clemson and have obviously been a huge fan ever since. When we won our second football National Championship earlier this year, it was a very emotional time. I have watched replays of the whole game many times and replays of the final drive probably a hundred times.
I am a big believer in prayers! That has definitely come in handy during the last year. I had rectal cancer surgery in January of this year after going through weeks of pill form chemo and radiation. My surgery was a week after we won the National Championship (the highlight of my year). After some recovery, I went through weeks of IV chemo. While recovering from that, I had a CT scan that showed the cancer was gone! I thought things were going to be "gravy" after that, but that has not been the case. I have had problems with blood clots in my right leg, bleeding in my temporary ostomy bag that I have dealt with since surgery, and now, maybe spinal stenosis.
I have a MRI scheduled for Monday to find out what the cause of my weeks long back pain. I have never had back pain before and it is getting almost impossible to walk without severe pain, hence the worry of spinal stenosis. I had planned to go to tomorrow's Fan Appreciation Day, but the pain in my lower back when walking will not permit me to do so. Then, on Wednesday, I am scheduled to have ostomy bag reversal surgery. I have been looking forward to that since my original surgery for the rectal cancer. I should be in the hospital for 3-5 days if things go right, which will have me home before we play Kent State. It will then be a 6-10 week recovery period.
It has been a long year!! If you are of the mind, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! The more.....the better, as I see it. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. At times, I thought it might be a train heading my way! I really enjoy this site, reading the stories about our teams, reading the entries from the greatest fan base in the country, and I look forward to contributing for years to come! I am really looking forward to the start of the football season. I know we will play well and make Clemson nation proud!! Thanks.
