Why does every college baseball team have some BS in the dugout?

Coastal with this shark thing. Arizona with the human geisers water stuff. SC had that stupid stick when they won it. I know baseball is inherently a lazy man's game and they need some form of entertainment or physical activity in the dugout but still.
Also the NCAA banned dugout props for softball this year. Why not in baseball too?

may be a little superstitious too.. either way i don't see the harm in having some fun. Clemson had a sledge hammer the whole year that they handed out when you hit a bomb.

If I'm coaching I would rather my team think about the championship game we are playing and less about the rubber toys but that's just me!

I don't see what the issue is especially if you're winning. Most teams have something they do for the 2-2 counts, 3-2 counts, etc. Wh3n you play loose, you usually play pretty well. Now if you're a team that has a losing record then yeah I'd say it was a little much and it's time to dial in. Teams can have fun and be dialed in at the same time.

Ever think the antics help the kids stay loose and play better? I would argue that the two go hand in hand. Plus when you're winning, you're having fun so.

were usually pretty arrogant and lazy in class. Only Dominic Leone was friendly and engaged in class. The others, not so much on either count. And this is when we did not have very good teams.

but physically it's not on par with other sports (except golf). I mean major leaguers routinely pull out their hamstring running the first base.
