Regarding the Wusspack baseball team’s season ending.

Was the NCAA not clear about the rules for COVID testing and protocols?
Or did NC State knowingly take a risk by not having some of its players vaccinated?
I think we can all agree that it’s a really crummy way to have your season end, but if NC State knew that a certain number of positive tests meant forfeiting, then that’s on them. Whether they agreed with the policies or not, they have to respect the rules of the organization of which they are a member.
And if the NCAA wasn’t clear about the rules, then that’s ridiculous and they should be held accountable.
Yes, I’m aware that a few of the positive tests on the team had reportedly been vaccinated. But that doesn’t change the argument here, especially since some of their players weren’t vaccinated.
I’m just sorry it couldn’t have happened to Doeren and their football team. JK. Sort of.

Has UNC always been aware of this?Or do their rules just apply to member schools that don't make them a lot of money?

To suggest the NCAA has different standards for different schools is ridiculous. The way they have operated for years makes it obvious that is the case.

We are basically post pandemic so why is testing players still a thing? We are suppose to follow the science but there is no science supporting testing a 20 year old in good condition at this point in the cycle

I agree. The fans in the stands didn't have to be tested or wear masks and they were a lot closer together than the players. Also, didn't a couple of vaccinated players test positive? The NCAA should have let them play. I won't watch the championship.

My thoughts as well. If the schools are made aware of the rules, like the or not, they gotta live by them. If that coach knew the rules, he should have made sure his players understood the risks associated with not getting vaccinated.
If the NCAA didn't communicate the rules, itis bad on them.
It sucked to end that way. I was pulling for them, but I suspect they knew the rules.

But more seriously, the P5 should pull out, keep all the money, manage rules and procedures via annual meeting of the ADs of all the schools. SEC couldn’t get preferential treatment since they would be out-numbered.

State knew the risk and the rules. They knew if they could provide info that all players, staff, and coaches were vaccinated then there wouldn't be testing every player, every day. It does stink, but they knew the rules.
The coach admitted he was not going to push his beliefs on any player or tell said player they had to get vaccinated. He said from the get go that wasn't in his job description.

The N.C. State coach is an idiot as is any coach who does not require his players to be vaccinated. Because of his stupidity on vaccinations together with the stupidity and selfishness of his unvaccinated players, N.C. state is eliminated. In football it would be even worse. Suppose Clemson's players are not vaccinated and shortly before the UGA game we have a covid outbreak on the team or a bunch of failed covid tests and as a result the game is cancelled. Can you imagine the lost revenue? This is but just one reason for everyone to get vaccinated. If you don't you are a self centered, selfish, dumba**.

That tested positive had been vaccinated. None of the unvaccinated players tested positive, not one. It was a political statement by the NCAA to disqualify all unvaccinated players despite the fact none of them tested positive. This is bulls@@@

We will never know the details, but from the quote of the NCSU coach it sounded to me like he left it up to his players to decide whether or not they would get a vaccine and some of them decided not to.
Note: I am only inferring from what he said in his comment. He did not explicitly state that.

COVID card is definitely going to be used this fall in football. The ACC better update their COVID policies, particularly for players who test positive for COVID but who have been vaccinated.

it for the kids though.
I think they only had a couple of positive tests - and the rest were due to contact tracing.
The coach said deciding to get vaccinated was a personal decision and we wasn't going to force his opinion on the team.

Ans covid.
It seems the NCAA violated thier own policy. Said vaccinated players would not be tested but the accinated NC state players were.
If that is true State could probably file some sort of suit or complaint if they wanted to.

significantly reduces the chances of getting COVID, virtually eliminates the risk of getting severe COVID, and has a much lower side effect profile compared to that of having COVID.
Hope that helps.

Does the science really show that Mr.Keller? Or is it possible that maybe Vaccinated people just are getting tested hmmm less often. You mighttt want to check out Israel's number as of late. 50% of all new cases are you guessed.... FULLY VACCINATED. But wait let's continue and say that by getting this shot it's becomes less severe... So your telling me after literally 18 months of this thing being around that I haven't already been exposed to it at some point. What happened to the big bad herd immunity. Headling of an article today that read "Only people 50 and over have died that were fully vaccinated".... I mean how many more mutations before whatever it is that you put In your arm is useless. The FDA now warns of rare heart inflammation. I mean does anybody really even know at this point what's good for you and what isn't? I can tell you that allowing 21,500 fans to travel across the country, pay for tickets, without any restrictions and then cancel the game because 4 vaccinated players tested positive is bologna. Why cancel the game for the players safety? Guess those fans are chopped liver huh.

The vaccine isn’t perfect.
Jun 28, 2021, 11:30 PM
|
|
But we can’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
In the U.S., vaccine deaths are down 90% since the peak in mid-January. That equates to many thousands of lives saved.
Herd immunity could’ve happened if more people had gotten vaccinated. The longer the virus stays around, the more time it has to mutate into new variants. The downside to “my body, my choice” is that if enough people choose not to get the vaccine, the higher the likelihood that nasty mutations will occur.
I don’t think the vaccine is the entirety of the answer. People still need to be smart, especially those who are vulnerable to begin with. We also aren’t talking enough about the potential benefit of vitamin D, ivermectin, not being overweight, etc. The crusade to go against anything Trump said likely cost many lives. This isn’t to say that vitamin D supplements or repurposing medications like ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine are miracle cures, but they do seem to make a substantial difference. The research is out there. Physicians and the media are too quick to dismiss simple answers just because they aren’t a new vaccine or drug.

It also seems unvaccinated people who have had covid are also part of the herd immunity. A Cleveland clinic study says people who have had covid are as protected as vaccinated people. That’s just the way the body works. My wife and I had covid in December and we chose to not take the vaccine. Just makes sense to me.

Deaths are down ..fact.
Agenda. Deaths are down because the vaccine. Could be true.
Also could be true The people who would die from covid have already died.
It is a scientific fact that the death rate for humans would get to zero once everyone on the planet dies.

T CDC stated last week that virtually all cover deaths are among unvaccinated people. I wish I could find the numbers and repost them but it is something like one tenth of one percent of the deaths are vaccinated people and 99.9% of the deaths are unvaccinated. To me that's a real good reason to get the vaccination.

That contributes to me being extremely low risk for the virus, and also has many other obvious benefits.
Better than an untested vaccine, in my opinion.
You know you have to laugh at the ridiculous deals where people can get free donuts for a year if they get the vaccine. How f’d up is that??

But it makes no sense to let them play the game on friday and then tell them they are disqualified. It was like they let them play for television purposes and then they acted like they didn't need them anymore.
I will not watch college baseball anymore, especially if vandy is involved. I hate that #### whistler and that was a ridiculous ending.
The only way I watch college baseball now is if Clemson is involved and that won't happen until February.
