football. If the Clemson offensive player was the first to make contact with the Alabama defender it would have been illegal. Once the Alabama defender initiated fist contact it became legal. End of discussion.

Yep! Our off receiver baited the Bama DB into making first contact, and Forrest Gump took the bait!

There was no baiting involved it was clear that Bama's defensive strategy was to do anything possible to not let a receiver into the endzone starting with tackling Mike Williams with :06 seconds left. We just had the perfect play call to counter with.

slow motion...Bama DB wraps his arms around Scott (D holding right there) and throws him to the ground...Scott never touched Tony Brown...Brown was forced to the rear of the EZ because of two players on the ground in front of him giving Renfrow open space to catch the football before the other DB knocks him to the ground. The only pic was by a Bama played. Should have been D holding but nothing was called.

should have been an offensive pass interference on the guy covering Scott. It would have been declined by Clemson because, by that time, we were shining up the natty trophy for the post-game ceremony.
It is hard enough to get a pick call on a receiver when he is involved with a defender that was not covering him. It is even that much harder to get one called on a receiver vs the defender that is covering him, especially when said defender grabs and pulls down the receiver. The great Alabama coaching staff got severely out-coached on that play. Should have known that type of play was coming, or called a timeout and adjusted for it. They didn't, game over, trophy is in Clemson forever and Bama has one less natty than they will ever be able to say they have.
As for the Mike Williams touchdown, Legget simply ran a route, turned around and held up his hands for a pass. Bama's fault that their players looked like a keystone cop movie falling all over him.

Reporter....was it a rub or a pick play?
Hunter allegedly responded ...it was defensive pass interference. I think that response is what Bammers are so salty about. If that is what he said he was 100% correct.

Reading the thread, seems like they don't want to play the Tigers this year. All pulling for ND because they all believe ND will be a cake walk. Bama fans are going to be disappointed because they play the Tigers in the Natty or go home. Bama can be salty all they want Whether it was a pick, rub, or defensive PI doesn't matter. It was a TD and that's all it was.

When it comes to that game Alabama fans need to keep their mouths shut. They should have had about three players ejected for illegal hits on DW4. The most blatant targeting you will see and never called.

I like how on that same thread they're proud of Saban's payback against us using 2 DL guys-- except the 'rubber' initiated and held his block until the pass was caught.
That's gotta be legal, because we kinda almost did it first, right?

Pathetic. I respect what Bama has done, but they are absolute pathetic losers. Hope to see them cry about something new this year.

I always tell the Bama fans these two things, but they really don't want a conversation. They just want to pick fights and walk away.
1) the ref was smarter than Tony Brown, because he has said in interviews that he was expecting that play and specifically watched Tay execute it the best he's ever seen.
2) Tay Scott was selected for that role because of his attention to detail. In 2016 Tay had 4 big plays called back due to blocking penalties by other receivers; on the other hand, Tay's blocking was impeccable. He was a great team player.

Any time a walk on wide receiver can make a 5 star DB go to ground with a hard juke it should be called a penalty. Hunter just isn't very nice to the Alabama DB's
