I like him. Love what he brings…but he’s officially on the clock. This team is a shell of last year’s, and we don’t look good at the plate, in the field, or on the bump. Major weaknesses all around. Someone has to be held accountable.
I think Bakich will get it fixed, but he’ll need to act with some serious urgency.

Need to figure out hitting and pitching coaching and recruiting, no more waiting for two strikes before swinging and no more pitchers topping out at 91 MPH. Bakich is not a bad coach by any means, but we can’t keep just making it to the postseason, we need to start turning the corner and at least make it to Omaha every year.

Omaha every year???? That's just a dumb statement. Over 300 D1 baseball teams and you expect to be Top 8 every year? How absurd are those expectations?

Maybe wishful thinking, but being in the hunt every year isn’t out of the realm. Finishing in the top of a top two baseball conference should warrant a top 8 national finish somewhat regularly.

Making every year is a stretch but minimum every 3rd year on average. Play in the supers 2 of 3 years. I like coach and think he's right for Clemson. Consistent with our other great coaches... but serious self scouting and perhaps a change in assistants.
But let's keep it real, if softball can accomplish what they have with zero history... 🤷
Not the biggest fan of Rittman, but that's a different day. But you have to give props to him for getting new assistants and fixing our last 2 years woes of not hitting. He did it through recruiting. Granted entirely different as most baseball talent go straight to the draft, but I hope my point was made.
Let's not kid ourselves and think baseball is the only sport at Clemson that operates at a disadvantage. We were given a favorable regional, so can't say that this year. Cam was the only player to end above. 300. Purify may have squeezed out a 300. But the point is crystal clear, Jimmy and joes

We definitely need some developmental assistance

But I’m reading the tea leaves and know Schnabel isn’t going anywhere. I’m also seeing what FSU didn’t see in Belanger to retain him. I just don’t see how it gets fixed without a complete overhaul of developmental coaching in fielding (100% fixable), batting (likely fixable), and pitching (recruiting/eval).
I had the same reservations about Dabo in 2010 and throughout the whole DJ era and he did the hard things (eventually). Time will tell.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt with all the injuries and the mess he was left with but starting to feel like he’s all hat and no cattle.

He must need NIL money. That will fix it in a hurry. That's what everyone else is doing.

I was thinking about this today also after the loss i believe this will be Bakich 4th year coming up right? the year we lost to the Vols i still think we got ripped off by the umps a bit i give him a mulligan same with the regional against Florida........but now this is a 3rd time in a row losing at home and this time in bad fashion.............I'm thinking we should be more like Miss State in the sense of they finally won it all with Lemonis but even winning it all didnt keep him safe another 4 years.
All i know is when FSU and Clemson had opening the same year and Bakich and Link Jarret were available my first instinct was i liked link jarret better due to offense.
Like the OP said Bakich is on the clock now.....if you can get fired 4 years after winning a title, then 4 or 5 years of nothing should get you fired. I will say Bakich is a better regular season coach than Monte Lee but he hasnt captured the magic in the post, and his run to the title game at michigan does nothing for clemson.

Link Jarret was absolutely not available....He was locked in at ND and FSU literally fired their legendary coach's son and made Jarrett an offer he could not refuse...
