Assuming Brad does the same thing this year

If anybody knows some new candidates to replace Brad let’s hear it. I think it’s justified to think that this is finally Brad’s last chance with Neff being very initiative, and with Monte Lee being fired.

Depends what you want. You have to remember clemson basketball is not a very desirable job and also we likely wouldn’t hire anyone who touches on the side of shady business. Earl Grant from BC. Pat Kelsey at CofC come to mind as good fits

I would agree about Clemson not really being a desirable job, but look at Auburn, Alabama, and other schools that are similar in having football more supported. Auburn got Bruce Pearl and he’s been very successful there. So we just need someone to recruit at a higher level than Brad at least.

Auburn and Alabama both spend more than we do on men’s basketball each year.

Are you willing for Clemson to spend several million more a year on basketball to create a more level point of comparison?

And based on your history - what you just posted is probably a lie.

Several more million? Nah...maybe a million more. And yes....we are.
We have spent millions on softball/gymnastics/rowing.....I think its time to cut it out with all the new stuff we are ultimately going to have to cut when a recession comes and focus on the SPORTS that TYPICALLY MAKE MONEY
So yes. Everyone is ready to go get an actual basketball coach

How is it not a desirable job? Great arena, great fans, great campus. Plays in a prestigious conference, and some history of winning. I’m not sure how South Carolina or Loyola are a better job.

I don't see the appeal with Richey

other than the fact that he has ties to the upstate.
He's done a good job at Furman, but he's never been to the NCAA Tournament in his 5 years there, and they have never finished higher than 2nd in the Southern Conference.
I don't see anything there that gets me excited about him succeeding at Clemson.
For comparison purposes, Brownell won his conference three times in 8 years prior to Clemson, with three NCAA Tournament appearances.
If you're wanting an upgrade over Brad, it doesn't appear that Richey is it.

Shaka Smart is a name that has popped up in the past. He just went to Marquette in 2021 but he is someone I would reach out to if the opportunity presented itself.

Shaka's time at being at Clemson is gone. He is from Wisconsin so he is probably going to retire at Marquette.
My favorites are Kelsey at CofC, Medved at Colorado State, Boynton at Oklahoma State, McKay at Liberty, Richie at Furman, McCasland at North Texas, and maybe Earl Grant at BC but that is dwindling.

That’s a good list, but we definitely won’t get Mike Boynton — he’s a gamecock and Clemson is not a better job than Oklahoma State.
I’d add Ryan Odom (Utah State), Darian DeVries (Drake), and Dana Ford (Missouri St) to the list.

I'm still on the Greg Buckner train.

Alum passionate about Clemson and aware of our untapped potential. Rising up the coaching ranks in the NBA with the Cavs and will be off to a HC position soon enough in college or pros.
He would bring a vision, chops, and a relatable personality to the table, and wouldn't approach this gig as a stepping stone.
I would love to see Brownell turn it around in Year 13 and make history. That's a great bunch of kids out there this season sporting the paw and it would be great to see them do something special. If it's business as usual, though, Buckner would be my hope.
Go Tigers.

I wasn’t aware he was coaching, especially at that level. I agree bringing his passion could be a good bet.

So this is your conclusion when Clemson's overall record is 8-3 and 1-0 in league? It's amazing how everyone who hates brad goes apeshit after the loss last night like it's the end of the world. Drama wannabe should be the way to describe yourself on this message board.

If it were a 15 game season wow what a strong record.
But they'll fade into February, finish at or near .500 and miss the tourney by a nautical mile. NIT yippee.
It's fine, though. Dont get butthurt. They suck as a program, they get not alot of money and noone expects much.

I've always liked and respected Tommy Amaker. I think he has done a pretty good job at Harvard and has that Coach K pedigree.
