ATHENS — Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young was arrested on Tuesday morning on misdemeanor charges of assaulting an unborn child and battery, according to the Athens Clarke-County jail log.
Young was booked at 4:18 A.M. and as of this writing is still in jail. His bond is set at $2,500. Georgia has not yet commented on the status of Young. Georgia coach Kirby Smart is next set to speak to reporters on Tuesday evening.
Young transferred into Georgia from Miami this offseason. Through 5 games, Young has 11 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. He led Georgia in receiving yards this past Saturday against Auburn, catching 3 passes for 51 yards.
“He continues to grow and get better and we’re going to need him in our offense,” Smart said of Young in September. “We need him to be able to play even more snaps and be in the best shape of his life to play enough snaps.”

there is never a "point of legal of choice" in such a matter. There is a legal-esque contrivance of so-called "choice" in order to justify a murder, but be assured, the unborn child never consents or choses to be assaulted to killed, even when the so-called "point of legal choice" is applicable.

Arrest info on the misdemeanor below. Colbie is denying touching the gal and it's a "he said/she said" situation. Who knows what really happened. If he did get physical with her, he needs to be gone.

Yes he has kicked off 3 players and sat a few others for a game here or there. It's clearly not enough because it isn't getting better. If anything its getting worse.
Kirby is the person to hand down judgment in his program. He is the one to implement the consequences. If it were 1 or 2 kids, that's one thing. But the sheer number of kids not caring about consequences clearly indicates he is not doing enough and therefore being a passive enabler. 7 arrests this year alone. Its not isolated incidents, its a culture that has been allowed to fester.
This doesn't even address the embarrassingly low graduation rate.
You can kick and scream all you want but it doesn't change the truth. There is a severe problem in his program. You know it's true. It is why you ran over here to chime in on the threads.

Maybe there were no signs of trouble with Young, but Smart also took Derion Kendrick after he was dismissed from Clemson. Do you think Dabo kicked Kendrick off the team without any justification? That one worked out for Smart, but if you take kids like that you're going to end up with problems.

ANY coach with a mediocre record would have been fired by now for lack of control. The fact that Kirby has won two titles and it won’t even be considered. EMBARRASSING. Kirby is not doing much to help his players do anything but play football:
Georgia's football program has a graduation success rate (GSR) of 41% for the 2022–2023 season, which is among the lowest in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The Bulldogs' GSR has been declining in recent years, and is well behind other programs. For example, Clemson's GSR is 99%, which is the best among all FBS programs.

DW was no outstanding citizen here in Gainesville, GA. Character issues was one of the reasons that Mark Richt didn't recruit him that hard. Dabo still went after him, and luckily for him it worked out. DW may have behaved while at Clemson, maybe he didn't. I will also say that Athens PD is no friend of anything UGA. No one involved with UGA would disagree with that.
Rara wasn't kicked off the team at MSU. He left with no issues. Same thing with Colbie Young at Miami. There was no bad history with either player.

We can all play games. It's funny when DW is mentioned in a negative way, this entire board goes ballistic in defending his actions. Sadly, he is a god to some on here. "It was the woman's fault!! He's 100% innocent! She's lying!! Let the truth come out before judging!!" The same cannot be said about other teams arrests, including Colbie Young's. That has been proven today. It's because DW wore orange and Colbie wears red and black.
The only stats with UGA vs Clemson that matter:
31 straight drives / 10 straight quarters vs UGA defense with no TDs, only two FGs.
UGA has won 8 of the last 9 games vs Clemson (the one Clem win being by 3 points).
UGA now leads the series 44-18-4 (Nine of Clemson's wins came before 1915!).
Clemson is 7-27-1 at Sanford Stadium. Those 7 wins are in 1986, 1977, and 1914 1905, 1903, 1901, and 1900.
This is the real reason why any news (miniscule or not) that comes out of Athens is blown up here...and graduation rates are mentioned. Nobody really cares.

You're right, graduation rates have nothing to do with college football or college football players. Its not like they are supposed to graduate. LOL
Winning above all else, including abiding by the law and graduating! Is that what they tell you down there in Athens
Kirby is running a finally succesful program on the field while allowing his players to run wild, break the law, staffers killing people and players not graduating. YOU might be OK with that trade off, most people arent.

I’m Dabo fan but him getting DW wasn’t bright. But seems he tried to help him which he did. But guess in pros DW went back to criminal element. DW was a model citizen at CLEMSON. He was riding the limelight and had many eyes on him at all times. Once he was off to the NFL, he had more free time on his own and his fame, money, and stature led him into many questionable and absolutely dumb situations. I think his career is nearing and end and that is a shame for a player as talented as he is. Then he did that sh yt this weekend? Scratching my head over his mental state.

As Clemson fan off 60 years if switch Clemson to criminal U like Kirby did UGA he’d be fired on the spot. If DW became sexual predator at Clemson Dabo would have removed him from team or Clemson remove both from Clemson. Dabo like Coach Saban Bear Bryant and Danny Ford had Alabama blood snd total class. At this rate how can you even be a fan of any school that is historically racking up arrest and cases like this? I don't think I could bring myself to wear the paw if Clemson was in this situation like UGA has consistently been in the last few years. There's definitely a culture issue down there, nobody can deny that anymore. They're making the old school Canes teams look tame in comparison.

I want UGA to beat UT in blowout. UGA to lose second and UT Alabama lose second. So with Ole Miss SEC having 4 or 5 2 loss teams conference championship time as ACC could have 3 no loss teams.

A better scenario for Clemson is for UT to blow out Ga and then easily destroy the rest of the SEC and prove the conference is overrated and the ACC looks much better. How’s that, Brittany lover?
