Each year, I really think Bakich’s best team was his first year. Cam, ingle, grice, wright, Amick, Taylor. I think we ran into a buzz saw of a Tennessee team, and still almost beat them.

Monte recruited all of those guys. Crazy to see what a better coach was able to do with the talent that Monte could not get to perform

A half dozen innings of two strikeouts is not going to produce many runs unless you’ve got some power hitters.

Agree, said it in another post I think for this baseball program to take the next step the recruiting HAS to be better… knaak is an mlb player for sure but I don’t see anyone else right now that stands out as an mlb player… and before ppl go nuts iv said it before cam is prob my all time favorite Clemson baseball player but he’s regressed and I don’t know if he’s still injured but you will never play in the mlb with that arm strength he’s shown this year… he’s a phenomenal OF but that doesn’t matter if teams can take bases on you all game. I really think he would benefit from coming back but this program needs another beer, or Grice type of hitter. There’s not a single scary bat in this lineup and the pitching is mediocre at best outside of knaak.

Totally agree, the hitting is just non existent , we are going to finish as 1 of the worst 2-3 teams in ACC in hitting and that is sad. Many of us pointed out these weaknesses months ago , and it was clear that a collapse was coming because we just weren’t that good . Now it has proven to be true . We are likely looking at being eliminated in a regional , you just can’t win with no hitting at all and less than average pitching . I would think we
At least have to look at a new hitting coach after this season ?
