Because we're not getting everyone we went after? 247 has us 9th today, and considering we're not going to have a big class I would think a 10-15 final is the most probable, which historically under Dabo has pretty much been our magic wheelhouse. We're 7th in star average and within a point of everyone in front.

If need be Dabo will go that route. Same as in recruiting. Clemson offers of any sort have always been rare, earned, and most importantly, committable. That's part of Dabo's secret sauce and why we have such loyalty and togetherness in the ranks. That intangible has paid off quite well for us over the years.

Go to Bama, OSU, UGA, Florida, Tenn, Texas, Texas A&M for guaranteed money.

I like CDS and wouldn't consider the notion of his dismissal w/o some stacked losing seasons, 6 CFP appearances & 2 Titles have earned him considerable latitude. That said, all the evidence suggests he'd rather die on the metaphorical "anti-portal hill" than legitimately access the TP for a significant roster acquisition.

Dabo has extended offers to kids in the portal to address gaps.

To date they have passed on Clemson. He is as selective there as he is with HS recruits. He works hard to keep kids in the program and out of the portal - much of that due to the development wall that many HS stars experience adjusting to this level. He clearly believes that busting through that wall is a key component in realizing your true potential and helping your team achieve glory. The portal has made it easy for many to skip that process which is part and parcel of why he's extra wary about so many that comprise it.

The ranking is falling fast because we started off strong but have seem to leveled off with no momentum at all at the moment. In fact we keep missing on targets & are now going to have to expand the recruiting board & offer & take lesser rated recruits. We seem to have difficulty finishing our recruiting classes strong.

The Tigers got off to a qick start and got early commitments so jumped higher. Now other Schools are getting more commitment and moving up the board. That's not unusual before the season starts and early signing being about 6 months out.
A top 10 recruiting class would be good and is still within reach.
