No nothing has changed. We could easily go the next 4 years without making the tournament. This is his most talented team and he absolutely had to make the tournament to keep his job. I won’t have my mind changed unless we become a consistent tournament team.

We have never, ever been a consistent tournament team but somehow that is the bar you want to use to judge our coach?

Why wouldn't you? I think 2 out of 3yrs or min of 3 out of 5yrs. This would put CBB this between 8-10 times in 14 seasons. Why shouldn't we expect that level of play? Screw history. To keep a coach 14yrs and only make 3 times, 1 in 5yr avg basically. That is not great when 68 other teams make it. We have the facilities in order.

screw history? You sound like a coot saying, why not us without a plan to turn the tide.

That is monkey logic. Cycling through coaches has been tried at multiple schools in multiple sports and almost never works. Even when the new coach has success they bolt for greener pastures.
The good news is CBB is recruiting very well and if we continue to pump NIL money at transfers, we have a great shot at more seasons like this one. The biggest risk are our fans who seem to care more about a coaching change than actually having a winning program.

Yeah, screw history. If Danny believed history he wouldn't have won a Natty. If Dabo believed the last 20yrs before hired what would he have won.

diatribe about how a coaching change RARELY works . . . . WHAT ? ? ? ? lol . . . . wow.
Look at USF's "history" of the last 5 to 10 years in basketball & look at what is happening this year.
Coaching change.
The other part is equally hilarious - if we get good, somebody is going to steal our coach ! lol - at least we don't have to worry about that with our current guy.
One last thing - my avatar isn't a monkey - but it makes me laugh every time he goes all sophomoric in his responses involving me. Great stuff. lol . . . .

jstone D329 is happy with Clemson basketball being the equivalent of Coot Football. He regularly uses that as the benchmark for comparison and an example of why we should be content with mediocrity.
Let that sink in...it's ok to be like Coot Football according to this guy.

That is a bar that is doable. The distant past is not an issue. What we could be now and in the future is what is at stake. If we had never in the past had a winning season; If we in the past had never made the acc tournament; if we in the past had never been to the nit would that be an acceptable standard? Why argue for failure. Past failure is not justification for president failures.

Not until he wins a game that matters. He’s making 3 1/2 million dollars basically to go .500 in the ACC. I’d rather take my chances with a new coach who might could bring home a trophy, than continue to stick with the guy who we already know won’t. He’s the antithesis of a topic by motivational speaker I recently listen to who said, “if you are satisfied with mediocre results, all you’re ever going to get is mediocre results.

Actually, that game carried zero significance. Perhaps if you don't actually know the answer it would be better that you do not guess a wrong answer. Also, any update on your previous screen name and was it banned?

He beat the Tarholes twice in Chapel Hill to shut that embarrassment up. Yes, I'm now good with him. Now, next year however looks to be a rebuilding year with all that we're losing.

Y’all keep forgetting we WERE a tournament team last year. We were 14-6 in the ACC and most the pundits had us in including Jay Bilas. That’s why finishing the season strong this year is so important. I’ll believe we’re in when I hear our name called or we win ACC Tournament, which has NEVER happened before. I don’t think the narrative on ACC basketball is fair and don’t really see the change other than Duke/UNC are not elite teams but who is?

attention anyway when he draws outside the lines with his crayon on that whiteboard during timeouts, we will be fine.
We need to be practicing getting the ball in bounds under pressure, it could have cost us this last game, and DID cost us a couple already. That means, despite his ability to make free throws, Girard should NOT be bringing the ball upcourt in those situations. That is a turnover waiting to happen.
