Are the Gamecocks the best 3-7 team in the nation?

I think they're in consideration.
I mean they almost beat the #3 team in the nation in that team's on house.

They are definitely in consideration for the best 3-7 team.

Really? The Coots are the best 3 - 7 team is on your mind for this football season. Only thing better would be if they were 2 - 8 or better yet, 0 - 10. SMH

It’s hard to back up a coot team that blew one of the largest leads in SEC history against a team that had 4 turnovers in the first half and continued to shoot themselves in the foot the entire first half.
The best 3-7 team in the country would have held on to that large of a lead for the win 🐅🐅🐅

A&M was playing down to them in the first half which is what many teams do. I hope we don't do that with Furman.

They're definitely the one 3-7 team nobody wants to face. Their defense is fast and aggressive and their offense "can" be good. Simultaneously they are one of the most inconsistent teams in the country. Even in the same game as evidenced by the A&M debacle. I know I'm more than a little concerned about our game against them.

If not now, they'll likely play like one a week from Saturday. With the Tigers down two solid OL, they will need to play like the best 6 & 5 team then.

idk... Syracuse beat us...

and they are 3-7. So they have to be a contender as well. Still don't know how we lost that game... it bugs me more than all of our other losses.
And Colorado has Deion. If Colorado isn't the best 3-7 team in the nation then someone forgot to ask Deion.
Florida is also 3-7. And Tebow once played for them.
Finally there is Northern Illinois. They beat the national runner-up Notre Dame last year. They are 3-7 this year, but obviously closer to winning the National Championship than South Carolina.

That loss to Syracuse was analogical to what a Quad 4 loss is in college basketball.
If we were still in the 4-team CFP era, and that loss was our sole loss for the season making for an 11-1 regular season, even if we were to win the conference championship, we would still get left out of the playoffs. It would be similar to the year when Ohio State had a bad loss to Purdue (though it was their only loss for the regular season), and they got removed from the playoffs because of it. In the case of the current 12-team CFP this year, that loss would very likely prevent us from getting a first round bye even with a 12-1 record.

Played a tough schedule. If they had a consistent OL they would have a few more wins. They do have some great athletes on their team but you have to be pretty darn good to win with that schedule.
Texas and LSU are down but dang if they were playing up to the prices they are playing for players the SEC maybe the best it’s ever been imo.
