Apparently NC State is in the running

For the number 1 player in the portal in Memphis' Haggerty. Rumor has it that he was asking for 4 million from teams. Apparently memphis offered him 3 million to stay.

This would be an enormous get for NC State and it really would show that nc state is committing the funds to basketball.

I thank we’ve seen that putting that kind of money towards one player isn’t a good idea. Try spreading your money out and getting decent players. Not trying get these money grabbers.

The hold up is that his camp is still contemplating staying in the NBA Draft.
Might even consider staying even if projected as a late second round draft pick like PJ Hall did last season. PJ could have come back for a 5th season.

Also Haggarty has gone on record he wants to play at PG. Even if NC State gets enough to land him, don't be surprised if they lose committed transfer PG Tre Holloman from Michigan State. At the time of his commitment he was expected to be the starting PG for the Pack next season.

Yep holloman is their best commit and he would get pushed out.

Wade hasn't done great in the portal despite having lots of money. There is still a lot of time left though.

They would be fools to pay 4 million dollars to a guy who would be renting his services to his 4th college basketball team in 4 years.
