AP Pole: Wisconsin?

How are they ranked 18th? They have a 7-3 record. Best win is Iowa who I think is comparable to Wake. Loses are 16-10 to Penn State (unranked 7-4), 38-17 to Michigan (annually overrated but 10-1) and 41-13 to Notre Dame (perpetually overrated 10-1). Nothing against Wisconsin but what gives? What am I missing?

You’re not missing anything. However, at this point, it doesnt really matter. Take out SC and we will end up at a decent bowl since we travel well. I’m not thinking the other way. Win whatever bowl game and we will finish decent in the polls. I don’t hold out much realistic hope of the magical ACC championship appearance. I’d love to be proven wrong.

Lost by 28 to ND, lost by 21 to Michigan.

The actual answer is Wisconsin will win the B1G west, therefore they need to be artificially propped up with a fake overrating so that the B1G Championship isn’t mocked for the joke that it is.

Forgot to mention, all three losses were home losses. I agree the poll doesn't matter, if anything this will just give the team more motivation. Was just pointing out the inadequacies of the AP. Or the fallacy of bias journalists ranking football teams.

say how disappointing we were in the early season and just stopped paying attention to us altogether. We are being judged based on past years for sure. If like a Virginia tech or FSU had the exact same results right now they would definitely be ranked
