2’s and 3’s or not this is terrible. Shows zero development outside of the first team guys that are head and shoulders better on talent alone.

I'm always one who is positive throughout the game no matter what is happening. But this is the one thing that sets me off. The garbage time TD's are pathetic, and like you, I do not care who we have in. They shouldn't be this bad.

I remember Venables being in several shootouts at Clemson and did not win all of them. Hopefully you have been drinking all day (or two) and this is not your clear headed opinion.

There are 20 players that make up the rotation mix with the starting 11. So basically when they are all pulled, the D is 3rd team and then 4th. Don't panic.

Yes. We're a pretty good team. But we want to make the playoffs and be competitive in those games. We haven't exactly played a murderer's row of teams this year. UGA was surprised at first by our defense, and then completely overwhelmed our defense at the half while we made no adjustments, and we know they don't have a great offense. Do you think our current defense can stop Ohio State, Oregon, or Texas?

At what point in a competitive game will we have 11 second or third string on the field at the same time?
If that ever happens, I agree, we're in trouble. But are you anticipating all 11 starters being out at the same time?
Otherwise, when a starter may go down, would you have rather the backups to not have played? You play them so that when one is needed, he's not a deer in the headlights

I guess everyone forgets the multiple times Venables put his 1st team defense back in to try and preserve shutouts or prevent touchdowns because the backups gave up big plays. Playing backups cost points which is why it only happens in garbage time. Yes it makes the margin of victory smaller. Get over it. Dabo clearly understands the polls as well as anyone on this board and he thinks it is worth it which is why we play more underclassmen than any team much less ranked teams.
There are good arguments to be made about the defense underperforming this year but late score against the 3rds isnt one of them.

What’s wrong with recruiting? They are 7th in average player rating. Sure there has been a few jump ship because of money and they see and hear no one is leaving and they will have to compete for playing time. Do we really want those guys? Dabo has small classes because no one leaves when they get here.
