Anyone else think LSU is classless to fire Les this way?
Sep 25, 2016, 7:36 PM

He needed to be fired, not arguing that. Should have fired him at the end of last year like they were moving to do. But to fire a man that won you a Natty and took you to another, just 4 games into the season? Disrespectful and classless. Its not even like he was getting blown out or losing to crap teams. Why embarrass the man? Let him finish out the season and get his farewell inside Tiger Stadium. Les deserved better.

I think mid year firings are silly unless it's a situation like Dabo where you are giving a real candidate a tryout.

absolutely not. It is a business and LSU has the luxury of siting back and finding the right candidate.

And losing their whole recruiting class like we did. We are fine now but that's the only reason the coots won 5 in a row. Firing is never good ask uga

I think they fired him now so they could get a jump start on pursuing who they want which I believe will be Herman.

Is Les "classless" for offering to reduce his salary due to poor performance?
It was time for him to go. Gets you a jump on finding a replacement. Keeping him would only be a distraction and harmful to the program.

It sucks but they had to pull the trigger now...if he started winning games and even knocked off Bama then you're back to square one. Get rid of him now while the media and fans won't kill you.

That's how we fired Tommy.

I think we did it the right way. Les promised to change his offense to get back to the conference championship and the playoff. He failed to keep his promise. That's why Tommy got fired, he promised to do better and didn't satisfy his bosses.

Exact same scenario though. Almost fired till he pulls off a mircle win against FSU, from hot seat to reworked contract. Fired a few games into next season, if we wouldve waited Dabo would have never been given a chance and likely a different hire wouldve been made

millions, to not coach. Only 1 team per year wins the NC. It took Tom Osbourne at Nebraska a long time to win a National Championship. In today's environment, he wouldn't have gotten nearly that long to win one.

So...let me get this straight...
An administration, booster and fan base wanted him gone halfway thorough last season, but got caught in a shame-fest because he won and bought himself time. And now, they should give him the remainder of the season and walk him out like a champion regardless of the result?
Maybe in a perfect world...but not in this world. He bought himself time last season and was on the hottest of seats to begin this season.
I don't think they blindsided him, or any of the college football world...and as such, I think LSU did just fine in their decision.

A change was needed. They need to gut the whole offensive staff and start fresh. Those guys have top flight offensive talent but just the completely wrong style of offensive scheme. When Lsu was dangerous they were scoring 25-30 points per game.
